New Report Highlights 100+ Actionable Strategies for Climate Change Resilience for Water and Sanitation in Frontline Communities | |
The Pacific Institute and DigDeep recently released a new report, “Achieving Equitable, Climate-Resilient Water and Sanitation for Frontline Communities,” highlighting over 100 actionable strategies for climate-resilient water and sanitation in frontline communities across the US.
The report includes real-world examples of how frontline communities strengthen the climate resilience of water and wastewater systems. It is the third in the ongoing series “Water, Sanitation, and Climate Change in the United States,” a partnership between Pacific Institute, DigDeep, and The Center for Water Security and Cooperation.
The report is already making waves with a feature in the Associated Press and a webinar featuring panelists Dr. Shannon McNeeley, Morgan Shimabuku, and Kimberly Lemme.

The Water Resilience Coalition, a CEO-led initiative of the CEO Water Mandate, is thrilled to announce the addition of two new member companies, bringing the Coalition, made up of some of the world's largest and most influential brands, to a total of 40 members. Leading this work is part of the Pacific Institute’s Impact Area on Corporate Water Stewardship.
The CEO Water Mandate is a partnership between the United Nations Global Compact and the Pacific Institute, and is made up of 478 companies that are committed to continuous progress building water resilience across their direct operations, supply chains, watershed management, and other areas.

A recent publication by The Water Agenda, WWF, and GlobeScan highlights NPWI as one of the top four most credible and impactful concepts for setting corporate water stewardship targets.
During the United Nations General Assembly in September 2024, the CEO Water Mandate launched a series of guides to help companies advance their Net Positive Water Impact (NPWI) ambitions. NPWI addresses three dimensions of water stress, namely availability, quality, and accessibility with a focus ranging from individual activities to collective action.
