Spring Also Means
Seasonal Allergies
As the weather warms up in Massachusetts, pollen counts are rising. Stay ahead of the sneezing and congestion before they start.
Time Your Outings: Pollen levels are highest in the early morning (5 AM–10 AM) and on windy days. Aim for outdoor activities in the late afternoon or after rain.
Leave Pollen at the Door: Pollen clings to hair, skin, and clothes. Change your clothes when you come inside and shower before bed to keep your pillow a pollen-free zone.
Keep It Sealed: It’s tempting to let the breeze in, but keeping windows closed and using AC with a clean HEPA filter significantly reduces allergens in your home.
Start Early: Don’t wait until you’re miserable! Start allergy medications 1–2 weeks before your symptoms usually kick in to prevent the inflammatory response.
