Arts Integration in Action

Students follow along to an alphabet dance.

If you have a youngster in your life, you know they're constantly on the move. It is no surprise that younger students, especially kindergarteners, benefit from educational experiences where they can physically interact with ideas. Our newest program, Literacy Through Dance, is helping kindergarten students at Paul L. Dunbar Arts Enrichment Academy build literacy skills by integrating movement into their lessons. Dancing allows them to embody letters, sounds, and words, leading to more effective understanding and memorization. It also captures their attention and makes learning more enjoyable! Get in touch to bring this experience to your school next year.

Family Fun at Sunbeam School

Families participate in various art activities such as print-making and green screen videography.

Throughout the academic year, Arts Impact artist-educators worked with students of all abilities across 17 classrooms at Sunbeam School. On April 25th, students and their families joined us for an Arts Impact Family Engagement Event! The school cafeteria was transformed into a showcase with multiple displays and activities.

Sponsored by GMS, this event celebrated students' hard work, highlighted the power of arts integration, and sparked creativity through fun, hands-on activities for the whole family!
