CPPA Launches New Website


The California Pork Producers Association is excited to announce the launch of their new website! This newly redesigned website offers quick and easy access to information pertaining to producers, our organizations mission and program activities. Featuring a clean and uncluttered design, with improved functionality and enhanced content the new platform provides a much friendlier experience. Site visitors are able to gather industry resources, connect with leadership, renew their membership and more. We are excited to offer a better experience as well as continue to grow our online presence and highlight more CPPA members!

Certified California Bred Registrations Due April 30


Producers wishing to participate in the Certified California Bred Program must complete registrations by April 30th. The CCBP was established to help maintain, secure, and promote swine exhibitor participation in our state while increasing demand for California bred barrows. Individuals and farms breeding show pigs in California for youth exhibitors to show at the California State Fair and California Youth Ag Expo are eligible to participate. Producers must be a member of the California Pork Producers Association to be a CCBP member. Participating breeders will be recognized at the annual meetings this fall as well as on social media and other promotional information. Grace Curry and Kallie Loogman Named Top Swine Proficiency Winners at 97th California FFA State Leadership Conference


Nearly 7,000 California FFA members and guests attended the 97th Annual California FFA State Leadership Conference earlier this month in Sacramento, CA. Among those participants were students competing in proficiency areas, two relating to the swine industry. Students have the opportunity to compete in the Swine Production - Entrepreneurship proficiency which entails a member owning an enterprise that applies the best management practices available to efficiently produce and market swine and their raw products, and the Swine Production - Placement proficiency which entails a member working for an employer that applies the best management practices available to efficiently produce and marketing swine and their raw products.


Kallie Loogman of Hanford FFA was named the California FFA Swine Production Entrepreneurship State Champion and Grace Curry of Hughson FFA was named the California FFA Swine Production Placement State Champion. Congratulations to Kallie and Grace for their achievements and best of luck as they work to compete for a National title.

In Case You Missed It


California Pork Producers Membership renewals are available now! Individuals wishing to renew their membership are eligible to join online or by downloading the membership form and submitting payment via check.


Recently, the Board of Directors voted to change the membership level options, allowing for more opportunities for families, companies and individuals to become involved without the burden of high fees. Effective March 1, 2025, memberships will be collected under this structure:

  • Youth Membership: $10 | Individuals under age of 18 and interested in pork production
  • Collegiate Membership: $15 | College students age 18-25 interested in pork production 
  • Producer Membership: $50 | Individuals 18 + actively engaged in pork production in California, including owners, operators, contract feeders, managers, and employees.
  • Producer Family Membership: $75 | Individuals actively engaged in pork production, including household family members (children eligible until age 18).
  • Associate Supporter Membership: $50 | Individuals 18+ who support pork production through advocacy, education, or work with allied businesses (e.g., ag instructors, consultants, veterinarians, product manufacturers).
  • Associate Family Membership: $75 | Associate supporters, including household family members (children eligible until age 18). 


Individuals who received their membership letter via mail last month do not need to renew for 2025. Should you have any questions or wish to confirm your membership please reach out to Mackenzie at membership@calpork.com.
