Two options for entering the show:
Option 1: Online entry which submits your information & payment to GALA electronically.
Option 2: Paper entry form. A PDF Call for Entries which includes a form that you print & mail with payment to GALA. Please allow enough time for mailing so that your entry is received by the deadline.
With either option, your entry is due by Sunday, MAY 8th
Live music all three days by many talented local musicians. The Big Random will be there on Saturday. Music will be outside under the big tent.
Please support GALA by participating in the ART RAFFLE TABLE
Please consider demonstrating your creative process at the show, or teach art classes outside under a tent for children and adults. Please indicate your interest on your entry form.
Unless you are a current member, you will need to renew your GALA membership on entry form. If in doubt, please email Donna at dfoley446@gmail.com.

Alicia Drakiotes is the featured artist at Prime Roast Coffee Co., 16 Main Street, Keene, NH for the month of April.
Her works consist of energetic spring landscapes and new colorful small works starting at $75 and up each. All work is available for purchase on the spot at this location.
Alicia Drakiotes will be teaching art classes at The Keene Senior Center, Court St, Keene, NH on Tuesdays, March 22-April 26th.
6 weeks - $150 tuition
10-11:30 AM
Students should bring their own materials in their preferred medium and will receive one on one attention to increase their creativity and learn new techniques. A lending art reference library is on site.

Coffee and Critiques sessions resume once monthly on the THIRD THURSDAY from 10-11:30AM, weather permitting. These gatherings will be held at the Keene Senior Center, 70 Court St., Keene, NH. Host is Alicia Drakiotes for the KSC. Bring your in progress work or come for inspiration!

As a service to the patients of the Center for Wound Care at Heywood Hospital, GALA has been displaying member art in the waiting room for more than 15 years. We will be contacting artists for the following schedule: May-June; July-August; September-October, and November-December. Three to 12 pieces can be accommodated in this space. BREAKTHROUGH, transitional works by Doreen LaScola will be on exhibit from through April 24th in the back gallery at the Oxbow Gallery, 40 Cottage St., Easthampton, MA.
This show features the artist’s recent discoveries unifying the energy & spontaneity of her plein air work with the abstraction & concept of her studio work as well as the meditations she began during Covid time.
The artist will be available at the opening reception on Friday, April 1, 5-8 pm. to discuss her processes, discoveries and challenges. The exhibit will also be open to the public every Thursday through Sunday from 12-5 pm.
Fran Kidder’s “Sacred Encounters” will be on exhibit in the front gallery.

Carolyn Latanision has been recognized for her efforts with multiple awards and by achieving Signature Membership in both the American Watercolor Society and the National Watercolor Society along with Signature Membership in numerous national societies including Rocky Mountain, Hudson Valley, and Pennsylvania Watercolor Societies. In 2017, her painting was chosen as the top award-winning painting in the National Watercolor Society International Exhibition. A native of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Carolyn now calls Winchester, Massachusetts home and works out of her studio in Woburn.
Juni Van Dyke’s work is held in the permanent collection of the Cape Ann Museum, Gloucester, Massachusetts and in numerous galleries and private collections. Juni is the recipient of several awards and grants, including the St. Botolph Foundation Award, Boston; Massachusetts Cultural Council Grants; and an Honorary Citation from the Massachusetts Senate for her outstanding contribution to the arts. Her work was selected by Room & Board for inclusion in its limited edition art series and is on view throughout the US in Room & Board locations. Juni maintains a studio in Manchester, Massachusetts.
Paul J. Noël is a master representational painter living in Wells, Maine. Paul exhibits throughout New England and enjoys an extensive private collector audience. His interior design background taught him the power of color and composition and he imagines his canvases as rooms to explore. Light, form, texture and elements of surprise are all part of designing a beautiful room and creating a captivating painting that the viewer can feel part of.

The Gardner Museum is excited to present the spring exhibit “The Other Gardner Museum” with artwork by Keith Cormier. He reimagined the 13 stolen paintings from Boston’s Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Aside from the artwork, the exhibit features some details of the still unsolved 1990 heist. The exhibit will run from March 2 to May 29 during regular museum opening hours—Wednesday-Sunday, from 1-4 pm.

Stories to Share with Jeanne Duval

The Jaffrey Civic Center’s first season of “Stories to Share” has been gaining popularity since it began in October 2021. The eight-part series has introduced attendees to some incredible people from the Monadnock region with unique and interesting stories. At 5PM on April 1, the program will continue with Jaffrey native and realist artist, Jeanne Duval.
Jeanne Duval is a nationally recognized artist. Her works have brought her recognition and acclaim including three MacDowell Colony Fellowships, two pollock-Krasner Foundation Grants, a grant from the Ingram-Merrill Foundation, and a National Endowment for the Arts grant. Her work is in several esteemed collections including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, The NY Art Space, and the Bayly Art Museum. Jeanne has had several solo exhibitions in addition to participating in several group exhibitions.
Jeanne’s talk is titled “Experiences that Shaped my Life as a Painter.”
The program will be available as an in-person event at the Jaffrey Civic Center in the Auditorium Gallery as well as via Zoom. Pre-registration is required, and for this event, the center is requiring proof of COVID19 vaccination. These programs are free of charge, but to help support this event and others like it, donations are appreciated. The series is supported by Exclusive Platinum Sponsor, Belletetes, Inc.
The Jaffrey Civic Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit cultural facility founded in 1966. The mission of the Jaffrey Civic Center is to provide and sustain a public venue where citizens, residents, and visitors of the Monadnock region can pursue artistic, educational, and civic activities. The Center’s goal is to contribute to the cultural enrichment and enlightenment of the community. There is no admission fee to the Civic Center and all art shows and receptions are FREE and open to the public. The Center also hosts fee-based educational and other programs, as well as serving as the home to the Jaffrey Historical Society. The Jaffrey Civic Center, located at 40 Main Street in Jaffrey, is open Wednesday through Friday, 12pm-5pm and Saturday from 10am-2pm. The tour and admission to the museum that day is free for registrants, and and you must register in advance online. The tour's capacity is limited to the first thirty members who register. A wait-list will be held.
Co-curated by Nancy Kathryn Burns, Stoddard Associate Curator of Prints, Drawings and Photographs at WAM, and Toby Sisson, Associate Professor and Program Director of Studio Art at Clark University, Us Them We | Race Ethnicity Identity features over 50 objects across a broad spectrum of media including photography, prints, painting, and sculpture. Presented across two galleries, the exhibition features significant loans and some rarely-seen objects from the Worcester Art Museum's permanent collection. Highlights include works by nationally-recognized figures Byron Kim, Roberto Lugo, María Magdelena Campos-Pons, and Lorna Simpson, alongside important New England artists like Nafis White, James "Ari" Montford, Laylah Ali, and Rania Matar.

Are you ready to brush up on your watercolor painting skills, or is now the time to start or continue this creative and rewarding journey. These sessions, sponsored by the Princeton Arts Society and the Princeton Council on Aging, are great for first timers or those eager to improve their skill in this relaxed environment. We'll concentrate on the basics: washes, brush handling, composition, color...and a good time. Our instructor is Charles Gray, a widely recognized oil and watercolor artist and PAS member.
When? 6 sessions from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. on the following Thursdays at 1pm - March 31, April 7, 14, 21, 28, and May 5

Live painting, music events, and more are available for the whole family during Art Walk everywhere you look in downtown Keene, New Hampshire!
ArtWalk Keene is an annual celebration of local artists. Every year, Main Street in Keene, New Hampshire comes alive with art. It is an opportunity for residents and visitors to take a self-guided tour around town as artists partner with local shops and storefronts to set up a personal gallery for their creations.

Man and Nature in the Monadnock Region
Artists are encouraged to enter 2 original pieces of art created within the last 18 months which convey the relationship between mankind and nature in the Monadnock Region. When appropriate, “gallery edge” is acceptable. 2D artwork must be properly framed and wired for hanging and not exceed 18×24 in. 3D art is accepted, but artists must supply a base. 3D art not to exceed 432 sq. inches. Please contact the exhibit committee with specifics about 3D art.
Artist compensation: Artists agree to contribute 25% of sale proceeds to the Historical Society of Cheshire County, but artists may designate more.
All proceeds contributed to the Society are tax deductible.

We strongly recommend that you include a digital image related to the news as well as your website address & links to any venues. Image filenames should include the name of the artist and the work. Please post your press releases online whenever possible and submit a link.
Submission deadline is the 23rd of each month for publication on the 1st of the following month.
Inclusion of items/announcements is always at the discretion of GALA, but inclusion of submissions from non-members is limited to information deemed to be of benefit to GALA members.
