April 2022 Shelter Snapshot

April was another great month for adoptions and transfers through our Highway to Home program. We are grateful to all who made it so! The generous support of staff, volunteers, and donors enables GMHS to provide daily care, cover special medical needs, foster animals in homes as needed, and arrange transportation to adoption-guaranteed partners. We are also committed to education, outreach, and transparency. Our annual statistics are available on our website, and we also offer you a monthly snapshot.
GMHS Celebrates National Volunteer Week

April 17 to 23 marked National Volunteer Week, and GMHS celebrated their commitment to our life-saving mission.

Our volunteers donate their time in service to our organization and the homeless pets in our care. From piloting Highway to Home transports, to socializing pets, to grooming pets of all types, they make a wonderful difference in the lives of homeless pets and are valued members of our team.

To our volunteers, thank you for giving selflessly of your time, resources, and talents to save and transform the lives of our community's pets in need!

Highway to Home Success

In April 2022 alone, 28 dogs and 91 cats were transferred to our adoption-guaranteed partners. We are happy to play a role in saving and transforming the lives of homeless pets! Thank you to all of the GMHS team members, volunteers, destination shelters, and our friends at Petco Love who make these life-saving transports possible.
