2017 Annual Report
This work could not be accomplished without you and we hope you enjoy learning more about the GVC and the accomplishments achieved through your support - documented in this Annual Report .
We hope the Gunpowder Valley Conservancy (GVC) 2017 Annual Report will be enjoyable and further your interest in participating and supporting our mission to educate and mobilize people and resources to preserve and restore the lands and waterways of the Gunpowder watershed.

2017 has been an incredible year that has included substantial successes, organizational growth, and expected challenges. We are grateful for the growing list of individual, business and community supporters, and partners. Since inception, over 24,000 volunteers have participated in land preservation and watershed education and restoration activities. The GVC volunteers, donors and grantors are the driving force of our organization and the GVC Board and staff thank you immensely for your support!

Water and land is a complex web that brings us life. Our work protects, restores and preserves this natural interconnection between land and water. We want to work with you, your communities, schools, clubs, and religious affiliations to preserve land and plant trees, install rain gardens, clean up rivers, maintain trails and remove invasive plants in the Gunpowder watershed.

Tree Maintenance Update
The Gunpowder Valley Conservancy tree maintenance events are in full swing! Special thanks to Bolton Street Synagogue, Dulaney High School Key Club , and Vidoori, Inc . for being tree maintenance volunteers last month.

We have been planting and maintinaing trees in the Cloverland community in Phoenix, the original site of the Cloverland Milk Dairy Farm since 1999.
The trees that had been planted, primarily protect Dulaney Branch stream, a tributary of Loch Raven Reservoir. As with all plantings, maintenance is needed due to the shelters being knocked over by deer or wind and/or outgrown their plastic shelters.

We are seeking additional volunteers and both individuals and volunteer groups are welcome. Register online or contact Kim Peabody.
