These are unprecedented times! As we make our way through these coming weeks please know that the Alliance is here to support you. We have curated a few resources from our member organizations that relate to our work in the Fine Arts.
From the Center for Creative Arts Therapy (via the Department of Cultural Affairs), this free webinar is specifically for teaching artists and arts educators who want to learn how to best support the mental health of their students and community during and after the coronavirus pandemic.
In order to further assist the young Fine Arts teachers in Iowa during COVID-19 closures, it was approved that the IAAE Mentor Program provide for “virtual” mentor visits. These visits can take place using phone calls, Zoom, Google Hangout, Skype, Facetime or Go to Meeting. The “virtual” visits will be in addition to the normal on-site mentor visits.
Further information concerning the implementation of this program is included below. Here is a link to the IAAE website which contains more information.
Approximately one hundred and fifty pieces of student work from all over the state of Iowa are on exhibit at this year's YAM celebration. Due to COVID-19 shutdowns, the Historical Building is currently closed and this year's celebration has been canceled. A reception was planned to be held at the beginning of April to celebrates students and their work.
Please share this video of this year's YAM student artwork with your students, colleagues, administrators, and parents. Together we can highlight our students' accomplishments and celebrate art education in our state.

Vision 2020: Empowering Our Perspective
The theme guiding the design of the 2020 IBA Conference is “Vision.” With vision comes perspective, and there is no greater time in modern history than now to live and teach with the perspective of a clear vision.
