In Times Like These…
I really like this quote and I have no idea to whom credit should be given. We all know that working in our industry requires much strength yet gentleness, much endurance yet softness and much courage yet some timidity. We are dealing with people and each person projects a different need where we are required to adjust in order to provide the very best of ourselves that we can. This is our mantra. We must deliver the very best that we can under many varying circumstances, no matter what…right?
That is when and where our internal strength needs to be recharged from time to time. We know when that is. That tiny voice lets us know when it is time to take a deep breath, brace our shoulders back, erect our chin up and announce that it is time for us to adjust. Maybe that adjustment is taking a walk. Maybe it is getting on a plane and taking a much needed vacation. Maybe it is spending time smelling our way through an arboretum or just spending quality time with our family. Whatever it is, that tiny voice knows that we need to recharge. Make your plan.
These are disturbing times yet they are times when we know, how strong we are, matters to others. Being strong is the only choice we have when we are working to deliver comfort and care to others. The speaker for our April membership meeting will demonstrate what strong really means. She will show us what she has done to live in a world designed for sight, while being blind. She has found ways to use technology to help make her strong.
I hope that you will take some time to understand where you are relative to your personal strength and determine ways to develop the most strength you could possibly develop, in times like these…for it is the only choice you have…others are depending on it.
