We've spoken with many guests who have concerns about the current CODIV-19 virus pandemic and we are happy to answer your questions!
Currently, we have no plans to close down the houseboats or marina due to COVID-19. Our plans for the summer do include implementing additional and more stringent disinfecting strategies for cleaning the houseboats between guests as well as all guest access areas in the marina.
On a houseboat on Lake of the Woods is actually probably one of the safest places you could be - far away from any people and out in the fresh air! Where we are located is pretty much the definition of social distancing!!
Although the US/CANADA border is currently closed for non essential travel, it is expected to open as soon as we "flatten the curve" on this virus. It is anticipated that it will only be a few more weeks. The Walleye season opens up on May 16th and we are confident that the season will move forward.
We currently don't have any formal policies in place but we can assure you that if the worst case scenario presents itself and if borders are still closed or if it is unsafe to travel, all guests will have a few fair options to choose from in respect to reservation changes.
For now, our best advice is to sit tight and wait this out.
Walleye Opener is still a month and a half away!
You wouldn't want to lose your week and not have a houseboat trip to look forward to once all of this blows over, would you?
