Charles Micunek
Territory Manager
Charles has been a great addition to the North team. He has done a wonderful job handling a brand new group in town that is growing rapidly and has the highest expectations. In a short period of time, he has streamlined trays and implants to make the day-to-day operations more manageable for WP and Altamonte campuses. Chuck has also created meaningful relationships and has the ultimate level of clinical trust with his surgeons. He has spent a lot of time in our lab and down in Naples with his surgeons to make sure that they are supported clinically and stay innovative. He has also put an emphasis on developing his team of young guns with Brooks and Nate. He has consistently followed up with them and communicated their needs with our HR and education departments. I look forward to seeing them grow with his leadership and guidance. Since he joined the team he has been a big part of the success of team WP is 150%++ to quota over the last 5 months. I have had consistent feedback from PMs and leadership that they are impressed with his attention to detail and clinical excellence. Thanks for everything you do Chuck…you are appreciated by all and truly deserve to be recognized as a great TM. Thank you for everything you have taught me so far and look forward to many more years of learning to come. -James Cade, Area Manager

Andrew, AKA Drew or Drunski, if he’s had one too many drinks, grew up in Ocoee, Florida, with his older sister, who is an OR nurse. Outside of cases, Andrew loves to play tennis, go boating, fishing and travel. He also enjoys watching the Cleveland browns play! Something many people do not know about Drew is that he really enjoys cooking, his favorite meal is Chicken Parmigiana with an ice-cold coke. He also has a special talent that he has been keeping from us, he can juggle! Guess we can forgive him, but only if he shows us! His favorite quote is "Great things come from hard work and perseverance, no excuses. If you love a thing, you will overcome all difficulties." - Kobe Bryant. His favorite part about REEL is the team, fun working atmosphere, and having motivated people around you every day really makes REEL a special place! | | | |

T28 (Future) Products: ACL Repair w/FiberRing, Knee FiberTak, & Radiopaque All-Suture TightRope
We recently had a local lab with Dr. Daryl Osbahr. For those of you who are not aware, Dr. Osbahr is the Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Rothman Institute as well as a Medical Education Consultant with Arthrex. Jim and Charles also invite Justin Boyle, Knee Product Manager with Arthrex, to join and show Dr. Osbahr some new and developing products. As someone who has worked with a competitive company, I can honestly say, not all companies are doing this. It was impressive to listen to Justin and Dr. Osbahr go back and forth regarding what was good and what could be improved with the new products. We started by doing an ACL Repair with the FiberRing and an All Suture Tightrope. In lieu of a button on the lateral cortex of the femur, the new Tightrope creates an all-suture knot, similar to FiberStitch, placed on the cortex thus eliminating any metal implants in the body. The Tightrope also had the advantage of being radiopaque, meaning it can be seen on an X-Ray if surgeons want to confirm placement. Justin also introduced the Knee FiberTak which we used for an MPFL repair. Dr. Osbahr loved the idea of using all-suture anchors in the patella and it works very similarly to our current FiberTak product line. It was very interesting to see the wheels turning with a PM and a very skilled surgeon. I am very interested in seeing the developments and improvements that can be made with the products demonstrated. As you all know, Arthrex prides itself on innovation and medical education and to see both at the beginning stages was impressive.

Surgeon: Dr. Antony Denard
Territory: Daytona
Representative: Tanner Hearn
Total Case: $10,000
This month's featured case is Dr. Denard's patella fracture. Dr. Denard has done patella fractures in the past but only with screw fixation. After multiple cases and persistent mentioning of the patella star plates from Tanner Hearn, Dr. Denard requested them. The case was a comminuted patella fracture that called for more than just screw and tape fixation. Ultimately they went with the star plate construct with Kreulock screws for fixation. Dr. Denard also utilized the suture holes on the plate for soft tissue repair. Going forward, Dr. Denard wants the star plates available for every fracture. The case total was 10k with biologics included! Great job Tanner and team Daytona on upgrading Dr. Denard’s preferences and selling the whole bag!

Dr. Osbahr, performed Reel's first Bio Patella case. He performed it alongside a Bio Trochlea on the same patient.
The Bio Patella technique has some fuddle factors associated with it. The technique includes a step to measure the patella height on the patient before reaming, which is extremely important in order to get an appropriate depth. If the depth is more than 12mm, the standard Allograft Oats instrumentation is required over the biopatella. We sized and made cuts on the recipient trochlea first, then sized and made cuts on the recipient patella. Once those sites were prepared, we worked the grafts with appropriate steps and disposable instrumentation, soaked in PRP and implanted into the patient.
