INDOOR ACTIVITIES GUIDELINES
Indoor match activities are discouraged. If a match chooses to do an indoor activity: masks must be worn, social distancing guidelines must be followed, and outings should be limited to no more than 1-2 hours. A signed waiver from both the Big and Parent/Guardian MUST be received by your Match Support Specialist BEFORE making any in-person plans.
BEACH CLEANUP - APRIL 17
Clean Ocean Action is holding their Spring Beach Sweeps on Saturday, April 17 from 9:00am - 12:30pm. Check out their website for the extensive list of cleanup sites in both Atlantic and Cape May Counties and reserve your spot!
EARTH DAY ACTIVITIES
NJ Department of Environmental Protection is celebrating their 50th birthday as well as Earth Day! Click through to find tons of fun ideas for crafty projects, coloring and activity booklets, outdoor activities and virtual tours of NJ parks, recreation areas and historic sites.
FLY A KITE WITH BBBS
Let's go fly a kite! Join us as we celebrate spring on Saturday, April 24 at 12:30pm at the 9th Street beach in Ocean City. We'll have a kite for each match so all you have to bring is a smile and a face covering. This event is for matches only. RSVP to your Match Support Specialist by April 21!
ACUA'S EARTH MONTH
It's the perfect time to celebrate Mother Earth as Earth Day is right around the corner on April 22! ACUA's Earth Month festivities are going virtual in 2021! They will be celebrating all month long with virtual webinars and shows, educational videos and more.
PLAY VIRTUAL GAMES
Have fun and stay connected even while you're apart! There are plenty of games available on both Android and Apple platforms that would be great for Bigs and Littles to play together virtually on their phones and tablets. Check the list in the link below, or opt for classics like Scrabble and Yahtzee!
BECOME A BACKYARD NATURALIST
The NJ Department of Fish and Wildlife website has a great resource for becoming a backyard naturalist. This would be a fun activity for Bigs and Littles to do from their own homes while talking on the phone or on a video call. Have the Species ID pages handy as you explore your own backyards or try some of the learning activities or outdoor skills!
COVID VACCINE SCHEDULING
 Per the state’s guidelines, effective April 19th anyone over 16 years of age may now schedule their vaccine appointment. Individuals under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Click the links below to find an appointment.
FREE TAX PREPARATION
The tax deadline has been extended from April 15, 2021 to May 17, 2021! Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) provides tax preparation, financial counseling, and benefits access to low-to-moderate income individuals and their families. This year, services have expanded to include fully virtual preparation with an IRS certified tax preparer.
