Maja Holt  |  2nd grader at the Allred Branch

She attends Carmel Del Mar Elementary and is one of the top students in her class. Maja enjoys attending school and her favorite subjects are reading and art. This young member of the Allred Branch likes to help others and make everyone feel included. Her younger brother Ethan knows how caring her sister is. Maja provides encouragement and extra hugs to the ones that are not feeling well or are in disadvantage.

Maja is very active and loves running. She will be playing soccer in the fall with the Sharks league. Maja is also an environmentalist. She reminds others, in the club and at home, about the importance of saving water, turning off unused lights and using both side of writing/coloring pages when possible.

Crystal Ortiz |  Polster Branch

Crystal has settled in to become a fantastic member of the Polster team. With her hard work and dedication, Crystal brings both an infectious laugh and an uplifting spirit to the Office Manager position. Crystal has worked with the organization for over 5 years and has developed strong bonds with the Harper and Polster Branch families.

With the new location and added responsibilities, Crystal has not wavered in her ability to provide superior customer service for our families. It has been refreshing to have consistency in that position, knowing when the kids arrive at the Club, they will always be greeted with a warm welcome and a smiling face. She is a great TEAM player!

Ensuring Youth Safety in Out-of-School Time Settings
As a leading service provider to young people during the out-of-school time (OST) - after school and during the summer - Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito have been a vital asset for more than 48 years. By giving youth the support, tools and guidance they need to succeed, Clubs have helped many youth realize great futures. From the very start, safety has been a fundamental principle of the Clubs for a simple reason - children cannot and do not learn and thrive in an environment that is not safe. Children are our community's most vulnerable population; it is incumbent upon all of us, especially entities that serve young people, to do everything we can to ensure their safety when they are in our care.  Read More
