Simione Joins 2nd Annual NAHC Tour on Value-Based Purchasing

Simione is participating in the second phase of an educational effort by the National Association for Home Care and Hospice to prepare home care leaders for the brave new world of value-based payment.  Along with other experts across the country, Simione faculty will include: Kim Skehan, RN, MSN, Senior Manager; Mark Tsiames, CPA, CGMA, CVA, Principal; Mike Simione, MBA, Manager; and Bill Simione, Managing Principal. Throughout March and April, they will participate in educational sessions scheduled in Nebraska, Massachusetts, Maryland and Arizona, discussing advanced payment models, financial best practices, clinical practice improvement, and data analytics. In 2016, CMS initiated a demonstration program to test the impact of a Home Health Value-Based Purchasing program (HHVBP) in Medicare. After just over a year of experience in the pilot, home health agencies need to evaluate the early outcomes and best practices that have emerged to improve HHVBP scores and qualify for bonus payments.  This program will combine an early data analysis of HHVBP measured outcomes with real-life successes by professionals to show the pathways to improved patient outcomes, higher achievement scores, and long-term success with HHVBP.
