Happy Spring, VegMichigan! There are signs all around us that winter is behind us - the sun is out, the trees are budding, and we can go outside and not freeze! Hopefully, you have been getting outside and enjoying the sunshine as well, and doing things that make you feel good! As you probably know by now, I love finding simple and convenient ways to live as healthy as possible. This month, I thought I would share a quick list of some products, habits, and life hacks that I utilize to help me stay motivated and make my health goals a little easier to achieve. Read Blog

Planning a Trip Up North? Read Rebecca's Latest Blog
Heading up north evokes some of my fondest memories. The shimmering blue waters of Grand Traverse Bay, the sweeping green landscapes, and the sweet taste of fresh cherries are unforgettable. The trip provides the opportunity to unplug and truly get away without even leaving the state. The number of plant-based options is steadily growing in one of the most picturesque areas of the state. Help Us Give Away Plant-Based Food
A recent report by Earth Day Network and the Yale Program on Climate Change Communication found that many Americans are open to plant-based eating but they don't know where to begin. VegMichigan's free plant-based food giveaway is a great place for them to start. Individuals who sign up for our program are given popular plant-based items to try and online resources to support them along their journey. If you think your office, club, or classroom, would be interested in trying Beyond Burgers, plant-based milk, and other popular items, email [email protected] to learn more. Over 300 individuals have taken part in our program so far and our feedback is showing impressive results.
Survey Question: As a result of tasting these items, will you eat more plant-based foods in the future?
VegFund recognizes the value of this program and has awarded us $1 for every sample bag we give out. We are grateful for their support, but we still need your help! The giveaway bags cost over $10 each to provide. Please consider making a donation to help us offset the cost, or check out our Amazon Charity List to donate specific items that are needed. Thanks for your support!

Teaching Children Kindness Toward Farm Animals
HEART (Humane Education Advocates Reaching Teachers) and Farm Sanctuary partnered to develop a free downloadable educational resource for 5-to-8-year-old children titled, "Exploring the Lives of Farm Animals: Lessons That Teach Compassion". The activities help young people to develop an appreciation for cows, pigs, and chickens by understanding their feelings, needs, and natural behaviors. The curriculum also provides age-appropriate opportunities for young people to think critically about the way these animals are treated on factory farms. The content supports the academic and emotional development of young people through engaging stories, fun crafts, and innovative role-plays. This resource aligns to educational standards and includes modifications for virtual learning. Download the guide or share it with any teachers, parents/guardians, or non-traditional educators who would benefit from this new resource. Attorneys for Animals Named to Wolf Advisory Council
Will Michigan have a recreational hunt for gray wolves? That's the question Attorneys for Animals will be debating over the upcoming months as they were just named as a member of the state's Wolf Management Advisory Council (WMAC). Few animals have generated more controversy – and emotion – than gray wolves. Please follow Attorneys for Animals to learn more about this issue and to stay up to date as the story develops. Learn More
