Make Prom Safe & Memorable

9 Tips for a Safe Prom Night

Prom night is a milestone for teens and parents. It's a night of fun and excitement, but before the celebrations begin, it's important to discuss safety. Here are tips for teens and parents.

Coalition Highlights

During March 2026, the Boone County Alliance significantly expanded their community footprint through a blend of high-visibility outreach and strategic partnerships. Digital engagement was robust, with 55 social media posts and 26 Instagram stories generating nearly 2,700 impressions across key topics like mental health, youth support, and substance prevention.

On the ground, the team executed innovative awareness campaigns, including the distribution of 3,000 "988" crisis lifeline stickers to local pizza parlors and providing smoke-free messaging to families at the City of Florence Easter Egg Hunt. The month was also marked by deep collaborative planning, highlighted by new prom safety initiatives with SADD, nicotine education sessions for regional school organizers, and active planning for regional activities focused on suicide prevention, youth engagement and empowerment, and data collection.

Partner Spotlight: NorthKey Regional Prevention Center

The NorthKey Regional Prevention Center (RPC) serves as a critical community resource across Northern Kentucky, dedicated to proactively addressing substance use and behavioral health challenges through evidence-based prevention and education. By supporting local coalitions and providing specialized training in areas like suicide prevention, military family support, and maternal wellness, the RPC empowers schools, families, and organizations to foster safer, more resilient environments. Their work focuses on "upstream" intervention—equipping the community with the tools and data necessary to mitigate risks and promote long-term mental well-being before a crisis occurs.
