Hello, and welcome to April!
We are so excited to start ramping up our spring schedule to enjoy time out in the sunshine! This month marks the start of our Beginner Friendly Group Walks and Clamming 101 classes, and we will soon start our Beach Exploration Walks and Summer Hikes.
Plus, there are always ways to connect with your community, such as Community Dinner on April 16th and the Daughter's Choice Dance on April 24th.

April Community Dinner
Join us for a warm and welcoming Community Dinner, open to everyone. Enjoy a delicious meal, connect with neighbors, and share in an evening of good food and good company. Food this month is provided by Gateway Taphouse & Grill.

Cost is by donation. Every contribution helps support future community meals and programs.

Daughter's Choice Dance: Waves & Wonder
This exciting event is for girls and their special guest or guests, whether it’s mom, dad, grandparent, sibling, or a cherished friend, everyone is welcome! Enjoy an evening of dancing, sweet treats, and refreshments in a beautifully themed setting designed to create lasting memories.

Paint and Sip Hot Chocolate
Come paint a lovely scene with artist Alia Masonsmith at L&L Bakery! Ages 8 and older are welcome to register with a parent. One hot chocolate or equivalently priced drink is included in registration. Price includes hot chocolate or equivalently priced drink at L&L Bakery.

Beginner Friendly Spring Group Walks
Join our Activity Coordinator for beginner-friendly group walks this spring, the perfect way to explore our home! Bus leaves from Birch Bay Activity Center (7511 Gemini St.) at 9 a.m. unless otherwise noted. Please bring a lunch, snacks and water; pets not allowed. Cost is $5-$10 per person.

Salish Coast Trail Walk
Join us for a refreshing community walk along the beautiful Salish Coast!
We’ll begin at the Blaine Community Center, stroll together to the iconic Peace Arch State Park, then continue on to L&L Bakery for a well-earned treat before heading back to the Community Center.
Enjoy fresh air and gentle exercise, friendly community connection and an option bakery stop!
Date: Saturday, April 25, 2026 Time: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Start at Blaine Community Center, 763 G St. Free and open to all.

Beach Explorations
Head to the Birch Bay State Park this summer to explore the beach! Join us for Beach Walks to search for and identify marine life during low tide. Or join us for Clamming 101 for informational classes about clamming, including rules, regulations, equipment and harvesting methods. (*Note, if you plan to harvest clams, you must have a current clamming license) Free and open to all ages. In partnership with Friends of Birch Bay State Park.

Summer Hikes
Join us to explore the trails of the Pacific Northwest this summer! Summer Hikes start May 22nd, and run through September. Hikes depart via bus from the Birch Bay Activity Center at 9 a.m. (unless noted.)
Cost is $5-$10; additional fees may apply depending on distance and parking. Registration for each hike required.

Spring Break Day Camps
There's still time to register for Spring Break Day Camps, packed with laughter, discovery, and adventure! Kids will enjoy hands-on projects, outdoor games, and themed experiences that make every day exciting. With a mix of science, art, and active play, this camp is the perfect way to keep young minds and bodies energized during the break. Kids must bring lunch, snack, and water bottle.
April 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th, 2026 Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily Location: Blaine Elementary School Cost: $45 per child per day, registration required. Ages 5-12.

Kids Summer Day Camp: Registration now open!
Get ready for an exciting summer in Birch Bay! Our Summer Day Camps are back, running Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. starting June 22 through Aug. 13. These camps are the perfect opportunity for your child to enjoy outdoor activities and make new friends. Scholarships available; contact info@bbbparkandrec.org for more info.
