Bladder Cancer Forum 2023
On March 31st and April 1st, Bladder Cancer Canada's Executive Director attended the Bladder Cancer Forum 2023 which took place in Kingston, Ontario, and jointly hosted by Bladder Cancer Canada and the Canadian Urological Association (CUA) / Association des urologues du Canada (AUC). Day one of the session was open to volunteers and patients, and session topics included BCG and Beyond and Bladder Cancer Imaging.
A special presentation took place during the Forum for Dr. Alvaro Morales to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first intravesical treatment with BCG in Kingston, ON. It was Dr. Morales that discovered that BCG could be used to treat non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer, which became the first proven immunotherapy for cancer!

Meet Victoria
Volunteer Role: Student Ambassador at Toronto Metropolitan University

Fun fact about Victoria: I have a green cheek conure bird.
Why are you passionate about volunteering for BCC: Volunteering with Bladder Cancer Canada provides a sense of purpose and fulfillment. It enables me to make a positive impact by advocating for better access to resources and improving the lives of individuals and families who have been affected by bladder cancer. Whether through fundraising, event planning, or simply lending a listening ear to those who are affected by bladder cancer, there are many ways to get involved and make a difference.
