Donations still being accepted through April 6th to the Lee County Solid Waste ninth annual “Donated not Wasted” food rescue campaign to help those in need. Drop off unopened canned or dry goods at open libraries or Lee County recreation centers. Click here for the full list of locations.

We were honored to celebrate the individuals and organizations making a difference in our community at our annual awards breakfast. The 2025 Environmental Stewardship Award Winners were: Outstanding Adoption Group – Southwest Florida Shelling, Community Partner – Southwest Florida Association of Environmental Professionals, Youth Engagement Partner – Florida SouthWestern State Collage, Outstanding Site Captain – Harry Phillips, Business Partner – Wawa, Marine Debris Improvement – Kayak Excursions, Volunteer of the Year – Chris King.

Students from the Diplomat Middle School Fishing Club recently led a cleanup effort in Cape Coral, filling two dumpsters with debris collected from local boat ramps. KLCB was thrilled to support this effort and celebrate these young Wildcats for stepping up to protect our waterways.

We are grateful for the Rotary Club of Cape Coral who organized a cleanup in a local area in need. Thank you as well to the Cape Coral Police Department for providing support and helping keep volunteers safe while they worked to improve the community.

Thank you to all the volunteers who joined us at Frank Mann Preserve as part of the Greatest American Cleanup in celebration of America’s 250th anniversary. Their hard work and dedication helped remove 100 pounds of trash, making a meaningful impact on the area.

Thank you to the volunteers who participated in our roadside cleanup along Ford Street as part of the Greatest American Cleanup. Their time and effort removed litter from the environment helping keep our community clean and beautiful.

Our Education Specialist recently visited Mirror Lakes Elementary, where students learned about litter prevention and the importance of recycling. Students explored how their everyday actions can make a difference in protecting our environment.
