APRIL NEWSLETTER
SEE YOU IN SARASOTA!
First off, I’d like to extend an invitation to everyone to the Suncoast Boat Show. It starts this Friday, April 22 and runs through Sunday, April 24. We’ll have Intrepids for you to see, and you can meet folks from our team including Alex Rizo, Joe Brenna, and Mark Beaver. Make sure you stop by and say hi at this tremendous event.
PROGRESS ON THE 51 PANACEA
This just-announced model is making tremendous headway. We’ve officially demolded the hull mold off the plug as you can see in the photo. As you can see, the 51 Panacea is a big, big boat!
ANNOUNCING YET ANOTHER NEW MODEL!
INTRODUCING THE 41 VALOR
Constant evolution is a big part of what makes Intrepid different, and that has resulted in us having another new model to announce. It all started with a desire for a new transom on the 409 Valor because we loved how it turned out on the 427 Valor.
After looking at preliminary designs, we decided to make the boat longer and wider to allow us to put twin 600 Mercurys on this new model … that’s a request that we have often heard voiced by customers and people we meet at the boat shows. We also decided to add a transom door, modify the companionway door and make the console wider to accommodate more electronics. This new boat will be called the 41 Valor, and you can learn more about new features and our design process by watching the video above.

Come see us at the Suncoast Boat Show this weekend!

THANK YOU INTREPID NATION!
At the end of March, the Intrepid team was overwhelmed by the turnout at the Palm Beach International Boat Show. It just keeps getting bigger and better, and this year was the best event yet. Our display was the largest ever in Palm Beach, and we’re already dreaming of how to make it even bigger next year. The Intrepid Nation came in force to greet us and see the boats. It was truly awesome seeing and spending time with everyone at this one-of-a-kind show in beautiful Palm Beach!
NEXT STOP... SARASOTA!
Tomorrow is the beginning of the Suncoast Boat Show. It’s an event with its own blend of excitement and sophistication on the water in downtown Sarasota.
This year, the Intrepid lineup will showcase the 438 Evolution, 407 Nomad FE and a 345 Nomad SE. Come see us for a personal walk through. Join us Friday, April 22 through Sunday, April 24 … we’re looking forward to seeing you there at the best boat show on the west coast of Florida.

BUSY SEASON ON THE WATER
The Sarasota Boat show is just around the corner and I’m looking forward to seeing lots of our friends there. This show is growing and promises to be a great event this month, and in the years to come.

Unfortunately for me, it is on the same weekend that the Angler Armory is hosting their Wild West King Rush event in Madeira Beach. Duty calls, so I will have to miss fishing with Jim Kelly and the Teledyne FLIR fishing team this time!
Teledyne FLIR is our sponsor now and Jim’s 407 SE Nomad, Seas the Day, has a new wrap to highlight that change. Best of luck to Jim and our teammates for a safe and very “fishy” day on the water on Saturday the 23rd.
Wild West King Rush is a great local community event that has been held in Madeira beach for over a decade now. It’s worth a visit to see who the big winner will be this time. Information on the tournament can be viewed at the link below.
SAFETY TIP
Part of the safety gear kit on every boat on the water is a set of flares. While pyrotechnic style flares have always been the standard, the hard part of this choice is that they have expiration dates. I know that time flies and that these dates can sneak up on you and pass sooner that one would think, but then you find out that your flares are out of date!

An alternative is use of an eVDS. This is an electronics visual distress signal that has some key benefits. They are a little more costly than the pyrotechnic style, but they never expire. The signal light that they emit lasts for hours, rather than minutes, and these devices float and can be renewed with a simple change of alkaline batteries. There are a few suppliers that are in the marketplace now, so I suggest doing some research to see which one might be the best fit for your needs.
Trim tables are an important component of the propulsion system on every Intrepid. They allow the helmsman to operate the boat at its most efficient and comfortable settings. We install Livorsi high performance tabs. Their billet construction assures the correct mix of strength and flexibility to the cast trim tabs, and their dual pumps with stainless hoses provide the hydraulics necessary to complement the power packages we install.
Using trim tabs properly will enhance your boating experience by allowing you to get the most performance and efficiency out of your boat. Some pointers on operating your trim tabs can be viewed at this link from the owner’s manual for our 427 Nomad.
Summer’s just around the corner so now is the time to plan your travels. Marinas and anchorages in all the popular spots fill up quickly, so it’s important to make reservations as much in advance as possible. If one of your trips is anywhere in the Greater Tampa Bay area, I’ll extend an invitation to visit our factory to see what makes our boats different than all the rest.
Happy Boating,
Joe
