ARTIST SPOTLIGHT
Recognizing the Late Jill Le Croissette
| | | | |
About Jill Le Croissette:
Jill Le Croissette was a long-term Visions member and art quilter who brought thoughtful measured impact and a sense of humor to our work through her role on the Exhibition Committee in the early years of VMOTA. Born in Australia before coming to the States in her early twenties, Jill had been juried into over 120 national, international, and regional exhibits during her lifetime. We were honored to receive a bequest from Jill's estate before she passed as a sign of her steadfast dedication to our success, supporting the critical work of our museum. Pictured here is an art quilt of hers from our permanent collection entitled Moon Glow. Learn more about Jill by clicking here.
A message from her relative:
To meet my dear, now passed, relative and quilt artist, Jill LeCroissette, in person was a very special day in my life and now I have gathered a large group of her quilts that I show to my friends in Oregon. I would like to purchase any Jill LeCroissette quilts that you may have, or I will make a donation for it to VMOTA, if you would prefer. If you are interested in connecting, please contact Lisa R. Croisette at stagevision@earthlink.net or by phone at 310.384.2882.

MEMBERS ONLY: FOCUS FIBER
Recycled Jackets and Sewing All The Time with Marty Ornish
| | | | |
Focus Fiber is an open and collaborative space within VMOTA that fosters growth and connection among artists working in fiber and textile arts. The group meets regularly to share projects, exchange constructive feedback, and support artistic development in a welcoming and respectful environment. Open to all VMOTA members engaged in fiber and textile work, Focus Fiber offers a platform for artists to build confidence in sharing their creative expressions. Focus Fiber meetings are held the first Monday of the month.
Our April Focus Fiber will show the artwork of Marty Ornish. She’ll be talking about her range of recycled jackets and showing lots of examples. Marty will speak about how she shifted from hobbyist to professional, before she became known for ecocouture gowns and art quilts of her own design.
