HAPPY SPRING! Spring is usually the busiest time for real estate business. What I've seen between February and March is that we have fewer people listing their houses, the average list price has come down, however, the average sales price has gone up in March. With fewer homes on the market, I'm not surprised. So if you are thinking about selling your home or you have to sell your home, let's talk about what you need to do next to get the most for your house. I provide complimentary staging and insist on getting professional photographs taken of one of the biggest assets you will sell and the next person will buy.

If you want to know more about market activity, changes and impacts, reach out and let's talk over a cup of coffee.

Color Drenching Dos & Don'ts

If you've been following design trends lately, you've likely heard the phrase "color drenching." This trend has made its way to the US from the UK, & the idea is to paint (or wallpaper) the walls, ceiling, trim, & doors of a room all the same color for a streamlined, monochromatic look. This can help to visually enlarge a space or hide an unwanted space. Here are some tips from thespruce.com on how to use color drenching most effectively:

  1. Vary paint sheens & textures to add depth
  2. Use multiple shades throughout the room
  3. Select a color you really love
  4. Paint a test swatch & see what it looks like through the day
  5. Think about the desired mood for your space

Tulips in the Netherlands
The best time to see the tulips in the Netherlands is from late March to early May, making April an ideal to see them in full bloom! Here are the best places to witness them in all their glory:

  1. Amsterdam Tulip Festival (April 1-30)
  2. Amsterdam Tulip Museum (year round)
  3. Keukenhof (March 21-May 12)
  4. Museum de Zwarte Tulp (year round)
  5. Bloemencorso Bollenstreek Flower Parade (April 20)
  6. Tulip Festival Noordoostpolder (April 19-May 5)

To find out more about these & other opportunities to see the Dutch tulips, visit afar.com.

You may even consider investing in one of these beautiful places. If you are interested in investing, I can help you find a real estate agent who is the expert in that area!
THIS MONTH'S RECIPE
Honey Sweetened Strawberry Lemonade
Nothing says spring like a cool, refreshing glass of lemonade! This 4-ingredient honey sweetened strawberry lemonade from sallysbakingaddiction.com is made with real strawberries and fresh lemons. It comes together quickly and is perfect for front porch sittin' or an outdoor spring get-together!

Ingredients:
  • 1 and 1/2 pounds strawberries, rinsed and halved
  • 6 cups water
  • 3/4 cup Meyer or regular lemon juice (about 3–4 lemons)
  • 1/2 cup honey (or more to taste)
Directions:

  1. Make sure you have a strong, powerful blender that will blend up the strawberries.
  2. Add the strawberries, 2 cups of water, the lemon juice, and honey to the blender. Blend on high for at least 2 minutes or until smooth. Pour into a large pitcher and stir in the remaining water. Taste. Stir in more honey if you’d like it sweeter.
  3. Lemonade is frothy right out of the blender so if you’d like the froth/foam to settle down before drinking, place the lemonade in the refrigerator for about 1-2 hours before serving.
  4. Serve over ice.
