It’s a busy and exciting time at Fun Time Academy, and our classrooms have been filled with learning, growth, and plenty of fun! This month, I want to take a moment to recognize the incredible volunteers who have helped make this such a meaningful year for our students. From lending a hand in classrooms to supporting special activities and daily routines, your time, energy, and dedication do not go unnoticed. Your willingness to step in and support both students and teachers brings a sense of calm, joy, and community to our school. We are truly grateful for the positive impact you make each and every day.
As we look ahead, we are preparing for our end-of-year milestone assessments. Our teachers are working diligently to ensure every child is supported, confident, and on track for success. It’s an important time, and we appreciate the continued partnership of our families and volunteers in helping our students finish the year strong. Together, we are setting our students up for a successful finish and an even brighter year ahead.

Our Volunteer Appreciation Brunch was a joyful celebration of everything they do for Fun Time Academy. Every hour they dedicate, whether as a classroom helper, a tutor, or by supporting special events, strengthens our classrooms, uplifts our students, and advances our mission. Their generosity of time creates a lasting impact, and we are truly thankful for all that they give. Volunteers don’t just support a program, they help shape futures. We are so grateful! | | Learning about Beekeeping | | Our Downtown students had a sweet time learning all about bees! Abbey, a high school senior beekeeper from Kansas City, visited Fun Time Academy and shared her passion for beekeeping. She inspired students with stories of caring for hives and even explained how she and her friends started a school club where they produce and sell their own honey. The visit sparked curiosity and excitement as our students discovered the incredible world of bees and the important role they play in our environment. | | We are incredibly grateful to Enterprise Mobility for spending a special volunteer day with us at our new playground. A heartfelt thank you to Emilee, John, Josh, Bryce, Art, and Nohelly for bringing such wonderful energy and joy to our children while creating butterfly crafts together. In a truly magical moment, a real butterfly joined the activity, making the day even more memorable. This month, we want to spotlight two volunteers who filled our classrooms with joy for Easter! Sue and Amanda truly brought the magic to life this season as our incredible Easter Bunny volunteers! From the moment they stepped into their roles, their enthusiasm, creativity, and joyful spirit lit up the entire event. They went the extra mile by visiting each classroom, giving every student a chance to experience the excitement up close. Their thoughtful interactions and playful energy created unforgettable moments for the children and staff alike. Whether they were posing for photos, sharing laughs, or simply spreading cheer from room to room, they made sure no one missed out on the fun.
What makes Sue and Amanda even more special is that their dedication extends far beyond a single event. They are consistently amazing volunteers who generously give their time and energy to support our school community. Always ready to lend a hand, they approach everything they do with kindness, reliability, and positivity. Sue and Amanda truly go above and beyond, and we are so grateful for the joy and care they bring to Fun Time Academy. Their impact is lasting, and they help make our school a brighter, more welcoming place for everyone.

In April, we focused on animals and insects.
Through sensory activities such as feeling different textures like fur and animal skin, as well as in water play with aquatic animals, our children enjoyed their exploration. They built gross motor skills by moving like animals and strengthened fine motor skills through drawing and cutting animal shapes.
In our VPK classes, we celebrated Earth Day (April 22) by creating animals from recycled materials. In our infant and toddler classes, children learned about animal sounds, colors, and shapes while engaging in simple sensory exploration.
It was a fun and engaging month of hands-on learning!
