Spring Break Highlights

Our Clubs were full of activity last week for Spring break! Take a look at our 2023 Spring Break photo album to see what they were up to.

Spring Break 2023

April Highlight: Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation Partnership

Over Spring Break, the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation visited our Clarence Fraim Club to host a day of activities! They partnered with local law enforcement and the fire department to give our Club kids the opportunity to sit in a police car, tour a fire truck, and meet one of the furriest members of the K-9 unit! Throughout the day, our kids also played a variety of games including soccer, basketball, and dodgeball!

Program Feature: Western Sussex Mini Garden

The garden at our Western Sussex Club is well underway! Program Director Christine Justice led youth in planting a variety of fruits and vegetables including onions, strawberries and asparagus. Last year the mini-farm produced 3,150lbs of food for the community. This year the Club will receive a new 30' x 72' high tunnel through a Delaware Department of Agriculture grant, and construction is well underway!

Club Activity: Delaware State Flag Football

The teens at our Greater Dover Club recently had the opportunity to play flag football against the Delaware State University football team! They were cheered on by younger kids from the Club, and had a great time while enjoying the beautiful weather!
