The recent developments and conflict in the Middle East have created challenges within global supply chains, impacting the availability of polyethylene used in stretch film production. This is tied to 20-25% of the global resin supply. Oil and energy costs limit freight, and result in tightened market conditions and restrict resin supplies.
These shortages have resulted in several recent price increases, with another increase this month, and more announced for this year.
This is affecting other markets as well, including but not limited to Paper, Industrial, etc.
