My Viking Story

This past July, my husband and I had the pleasure of cruising the Rhine River aboard the Viking Hlin Longship from Basel to Amsterdam. I’m excited to share many wonderful experiences and photos from our adventure. Traveling to Europe had been on my wish list and doing so by River Cruise with Viking was an absolute DREAM. When is the last time you took a trip and felt your heart grow from the experience?! We appreciated meeting so many wonderful people, including the ship staff and made great friends with couples all over the U.S. Exploring Europe by Riverboat ignited a desire to see so much more and we realized just how much more we can and want to learn about traveling and other cultures. We had a boatload of fun!

Travel Trends in Italy

We sat down with Andrea Grisdale, owner of IC Bellagio, one of our Destination Specialist for Italy to hear about new product developments, trends and ideas for traveling to Italy. We can quickly tell that after 19 years in business, Andrea is not sitting still, she is on a new path reinventing herself and her company. She says she realized that she can’t be the right partner for every request, instead, she is staying focused on what they do best, deliver hand crafted custom experiences for travelers who are looking for the best.
IC Bellagio just partnered with Altagamma, a foundation that focuses on the most notable luxury brands “Made in Italy” like Pucci, Versace, Gucci for fashion, Ducati motorcycles, Illy Caffe or Bisazza tiles, etc. Andrea was asked to create a travel program that would allow guests to meet with some of these brands one-on-one.
You now can book encounters with the owners, whether it’s Andrea Illy from Illy Caffe, now third generation owner, his grandparents were the original founders of Illy. He will take you through his life and the process of making coffee, how they are now turning to sustainable coffee plantations and what that means. Guests will walk away with a new appreciation for Italian coffee. At Versace guests will be taken through the process of making fashion. The interaction will start with a drawing created and then it will take them through the entire production process. IC Bellagio has access to many more brands and themes and can pick these based on client’s interests or passion.
