March Business Matters: Entrepreneurship
Thank you to Twin Oaks Technology for sponsoring our March Business Matters! the Co and Kevin Adelsberger of Aldesberger Marketing joined us at the Obion County Public Library for our monthly event. Kevin spoke to our attendees about entrepreneurship and afterwards we got to check out the 3D printers, virtual reality googles, drones, and all the other COOL stuff on the bus!! Thanks to everyone that attended!

Obion County Annual Legislative Breakfast
Community members and legislators representing Obion County enjoyed breakfast and talking politics at the Annual Legislator's Breakfast held March 23. A huge thank you to Obion County Farm Bureau for sponsoring and hosting the event! We also appreciate Rep. Bill Sanderson and Senator John Stevens for taking time to speak at the breakfast. Downtown Spring Open House
We had a blast shopping downtown for Mainstreet's Downtown Spring Open House! Shoppers enjoyed food, shopping, and door prizes. What a fun way to start off the new season and promote shopping local.
NASHVILLE – Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam and Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe announced today that 25 communities will receive more than $9.6 million in Site Development Grants.
The Site Development Grant program is part of the larger Rural Economic Opportunity Act passed in 2016 and updated in 2017.

Tennessee Chamber Institute
Tennessee Chamber Institute is designed specifically for Chamber employees to learn the “chamber business” from experienced practitioners of the art. It is designed as a two-year program and includes courses such as: Membership Development, Working with Volunteers, Communications, Non-Dues Revenue, Government Relations, Budget & Finance, Best Practices, and more! Institute is help in Murfreesboro at Middle Tennessee State University. Our Membership Director, Lauren, completed her 2nd year and graduated earlier this month! Congratulations, Lauren!
Union City Awarded Big Muddy Cup
The bi-state micropolitan area of Union City, Tennessee-Kentucky, is dominating things this year, as it takes home the Big Muddy Cup, awarded each spring to the metro area along the entire Mississippi River that welcomes the most corporate facility investments per capita over an 18-month period ending with the previous calendar year. Obion County: Grant Report
Obion County was awarded five grants in the past two years! The county received $580,000 in total funding from the Community and Rural Development Division of the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development.
