We’re still glowing from an unforgettable evening at the 4th Annual Embracing Autism Evening, Hear Our Voices! Hosted at River Oaks Country Club on April 11, the night brought together nearly 300 guests and raised over $300,000 in support of Avondale House’s mission to provide individuals with autism the resources, education, and training to reach their fullest potential.

This remarkable night would not have been possible without our incredible co-chairs, Sidney and Jason Fagan and Crystal and Jean Neustadt, whose passion and generosity brought every detail to life. We were also honored to have Emily and Allen Capps and Ashley and Christian Nelly serve as our honorary chairs—your continued support means the world to us!

Inspiring parent Ginnie Muller touched hearts and reminded us all of the impact we can make during the mission moment. The stars of the show, Phillip White, Brice Long and Grady Block wowed the crowd with their incredible performance showcasing all of the hit songs they've written through the years. The dazzling mid-century diamond bracelet donated by Tenenbaum Jewelers left one lucky raffle winner beaming, and our thoughtfully curated live auction added even more excitement. Special thanks to Erica Rico for her energy and warmth as emcee.

It's National Volunteer Month, and We're So Thankful For Our Dedicated Volunteers! Thanks to the groups that have recently joined us:

Houston Methodist MOM (Moms of Methodist) Resource Group

We welcomed the Houston Methodist MOM Employee Resource Group as volunteers with our adult day program participants. From Bingo to crafts, it was a morning full of fun and connection.

HCU Baseball Team

The Houston Christian University Baseball Team joined us once again this year. The team rolled up their sleeves and provided much-needed landscaping work at our facility and surrounding areas. We are so grateful to them for always making sure our space is welcoming and enjoyable for our participants.

Houston Marriott South

We were so glad to have Houston Marriott South join us to play Bingo and make friendship bracelets with our adults! It truly means so much to have groups come in and dedicate their morning to fun activities with our participants. Thanks so much for your support!

Now is the Perfect Time to Join our Run for a Reason Team!

Join Team Avondale House and register for the 2026 Chevron Houston Marathon, Half Marathon or 5K! From now until Global Running Day in June, open registration is closed, but runners can still register exclusively through the Chevron Run for a Reason charity program and join our team.

Each year, 60+ local charity organizations become partners through Run for a Reason (RFAR) as a way to raise support for their missions. Members of the community who are interested in participating in the full marathon, half marathon or 5K are encouraged to make their miles matter through representing a charity and fundraising on their behalf as they prepare to run. We'd love to have you join Team Avondale House!

Run for a Reason Team Avondale House Perks:

• Avondale House covers the race registration fee for Chevron Marathon, Aramco Half Marathon and 5k runners.
• The top fundraiser will win a two-night stay at Hilton Americas-Houston before the big race! The marathon will be just steps from your hotel room.
• Receive a custom Avondale House bib and running shirt for race day
• Receive Avondale House swag to rep that you run for autism acceptance.
• A fan squad cheering you on at the Avondale House Hoopla Station located at mile 6.5!
