Another month has come and gone and we are already a quarter through 2022. But it’s spring now and the weather is turning much warmer and we are now finally are able to meet without too much fear IN PERSON! Our Chamber events are picking up steam and the planning process for the future is looking bright. On a non-Chamber subject more importantly, if you’re a sports fan, this has to be your favorite time of year! The Bruins and Celtics are on a tear late in their seasons preparing for a long playoff run; The Red Sox are opening the season against the Yankees and golf is upon us and we are watching the Masters Golf tournament. In my non-chamber world, it doesn’t get much better than this!!
The crowd just keeps growing (as seen in the picture from this month’s event) and the networking and conversations grow better and more in depth at each meeting. I’m speaking of course of our monthly Chamber Breakfast Club Networking which as scheduled, took place on the first Thursday of the month -April 7. I said last month that we had our largest attendance at the March Breakfast Club networking since pre-COVID – well this month's meeting blew right past the numbers from last month. This type of networking opportunity “capsulizes” exactly one of the main strengths of Chamber activities – getting to know your “PEERS”! Here I go again with my favorite comment regarding this networking event:

We had a terrific After Hours Networking event in March at Tonno and we welcomed another good crowd in joining us to celebrate the opening of a newly renovated space within the restaurant. A big shout out and thank you to our host John Galeno and his team for showing us a great time and treating us all like “Royalty”. Be sure to put Tonno on your list of must visit locations and treat yourself to a wonderful night out – you’ll be glad you did.
We also had a very successful Women in Business event offering the opportunity to meet other professional women from The Reading, Stoneham, Wakefield Lynnfield and Wilmington Tewksbury Chambers to mingle and enjoy a night out at Tremezzo in Wilmington.
At this time, we would like to acknowledge and congratulate President/CEO Jeff Worth , the Board of Directors and the entire staff of the Wakefield CO-Operative Bank on their 135th Anniversary. The bank held a very classy anniversary celebration this month at their main office location here on Main Street in downtown Wakefield which was attended by many dignitaries including local town and state officials.

We are very pleased and excited to announce that now that things are improving the Chamber is able to bring back its ANNUAL BOWLING BALL FUNDRAISER. We are hosting this event right here in town at the Wakefield Bowladrome on Thursday May 26 from 5:00pm-8:00pm. So be sure to mark your calendar and keep your eyes open for more detailed information to follow!! Who knows, maybe YOU could be this year's Chamber Bowling CHAMPION!!
