Community Calendar Coming Soon

Wouldn't it be great if there was ONE easy way to see every event happening in our area?

We've been participating lately with the City of Biddeford, the Biddeford School System, and the Heart of Biddeford on a consolidated event calendar project with YODEL. By automatically consolidating events from over 50 local businesses and organizations in one place, we hope to make it as easy as possible for area residents to connect to and support activities and events in our community.

In the spirit of trying to create a little "advance buzz/ interest", we will soon be officially launching this calendar that will be accessible on the web, and also available as a free app to download onto your phone. The calendar will include all types of events, from live music and family-friendly activities to business networking events and municipal meetings.

As a Chamber member, please continue to submit your events through your Chamber account as you have in the past, as we plan to have our Chamber calendar flow through automatically for inclusion in this new tool as well.

Look for the official launch communication coming soon!

Member Initiative

We've enjoyed working with Chris Hynes in our community in a variety of capacities over the years, and he's currently leading an initiative that could be very helpful for our local businesses and their employees. Chris is the local lead for the Rhino Foods Foundation’s Income Advance program in Southern Maine, an initiative that helps employees access financial stability through employer-sponsored income advances. While they’re securing a local lending partner, now is a great time to start conversations with Chris about this program's benefits if you are interested to learn more: Rhino Foods Foundation – Income Advance.

New Biddeford Regional Center of Technology Program

Did you know there's a new program where high school students can learn about Travel, Tourism & Hospitality at the Biddeford Regional Center of Technology? With so many restaurants, hotels, attractions and events in Maine, tourism is our #1 Industry, and a great career path. Students can learn about travel and destinations, while gaining valuable customer service and communications skills. Collaboration with the new BRCOT Culinary program is included. Frequent field trips and guest speakers enhance the learning. Students have had an amazing opportunity to job shadow at The Lincoln Hotel this year! And they can earn free college credit while taking the course.
