The Good News Is...
We have been able to keep our teachers on the payroll! We are staying connected with all of our students. All of our core classes have shifted to online learning and provide a great opportunity for students to remain in contact with their teachers and peers and keep learning together. We have maintained fantastic guest artists to keep classes exciting and moving forward with motivation. Best of all, families are feeling the love and see the benefits of having Maywood Fine Arts in their lives.
Our Work Continues!
We wasted no time in applying for the Paycheck Protection Program which is a loan designed for small businesses to keep their workers on the payroll. We were approved and have been able to keep all of our fantastic teachers teaching by making the shift to online learning.
Finding Stability
With the shift of our core classes moving to online learning we have been able to stay in contact with all of our students! Bringing many, stability, camaraderie, and moments of happiness that help all of us in this trying time. Even esteemed guest artists like Michael George of Chicago's Hamilton fame are in on the action. Michael was one of the guest artists teaching dance and voice lessons when we had to start social distancing. That did not stop her from continuing to teach classes online, and she is still working with the students every week!
Happy Birthday Mr. Ernie!
Ernie Baumann, co-founder of Stairway of the Stars, Mr. Ernies Flip Flop and Fly, and Maywood Fine Arts, celebrated his 81st Birthday in April and had an outpouring of community sharing their love by driving by and yelling Happy Birthday from their cars. Vernel Brown, one of Ernies former students, drove up and became a mobile DJ! It was indeed time... for the the percolator.
Giving Tuesday is May 5th!
When we return to a new normal, it’s essential that we embrace and reconnect all of our families with their MFA family. This is and will always be the mission of MFA -- to bring our community together through the arts. It is through generous people like you that allow us to keep this mission alive. Please make a donation to Maywood Fine Arts.

Thank you for supporting Maywood Fine Arts!
