It goes without saying that those of us in the Property Management industry are going through a lot right now with regarding to COVID-19.  The days are long as we navigate through this unchartered territory.  Many of us are juggling work, household responsibilities and childcare and even homeschooling those of age.  Despite the challenges, what I am most impressed with is how creative and innovative people have become.  Just a few weeks ago I had the pleasure of installing our newest CPM®, Ninette Patrick over Facebook live for all to see.  While that doesn't replace her TBD "real" installation, it was a great opportunity to work within the parameters of social distancing to celebrate this accomplishment rather than just putting it on hold.  Additionally, some of our Industry Partners have instituted "Zoom Happy Hours" where we can virtually spend time with our IREM friends.  These have been a welcome treat.

 

On a personal note, my daughter turned 10 last week.  That's the first double-digit birthday so it's a pretty big deal.  In lieu of a big traditional celebration, we coordinated a drive-through parade with many of her friends and family, many toting balloons and signs on vehicles.  They drove through, sang happy birthday, and waved.  Earlier that day my husband created a scavenger hunt through the neighborhood.  While it wasn't the fun, friend-filled party we had expected, we got creative and she said it was one of her best birthdays ever.
