After a long and snowy winter, it finally feels like Spring. Spring is such an exciting time in the City of Orem because there are so many events, programs, and activities. Don't forget to follow us on social media to stay up-to-date on all the exciting events and programs coming your way this Spring and Summer.

Firstly, I am thrilled to announce that our annual Spring Clean-Up program is now in full swing. This is an excellent opportunity for all of us to come together and keep our city clean and beautiful. You can find the schedule and rules for the Spring Clean-Up program on our website at orem.org/cleanup.

Furthermore, I am excited to share that our Orem Family Fitness Center has a brand new water playground that is sure to provide endless fun for families. This indoor water feature is part of our commitment to continuously improve the already award-winning facility. I highly recommend checking it out.

Lastly, I urge you to take the CARE Tax Program questionnaire at orem.org/care. The CARE Tax has been a tremendous blessing to Orem, providing direct funding for parks, recreation, and the arts over the past 20 years. Although it's just one penny from every 10 dollars spent in Orem, it makes a significant impact each year. Many of our favorite Orem projects and places, such as the All-Together Playground, the Splash Pad at Palisade Park, Library Hall, the great SCERA Center for the Arts, and many more are beneficiaries of the CARE Tax program.

As one of your City Council member, I am proud of all that our city has to offer, and it is an honor to serve you. Let's continue to work together to make our city the best it can be.

The annual Orem Spring Clean-Up has officially begun. There will be four solid weeks of FREE dumpsters in various city parks.

• April 10-15 | Palisade Park
• April 17-22 | Scera Park
• April 24-29 | Nielsen's Grove Park
• May 1-6 | Palisade Park

Please review the rules of the program online before using the dumpsters. Keep an eye on the mail as well as your FREE dump pass will be coming to you soon.

The Orem CARE Tax Program has been around for nearly 20 years but how much do Orem residents know about it?

That's what we're trying to learn in the CARE Tax Questionnaire. Just answer a few questions and you will be eligible for all kinds of great prizes such as a 1-year membership to the Orem Family Fitness Center, tickets to great CARE supported shows, and gift cards!

Get alerts about emergencies and other important community news by signing up for our Emergency Alert Program. This system enables us to provide you with critical information quickly in a variety of situations, such as severe weather, law enforcement activity, missing persons and evacuations of buildings or neighborhoods.

We will also be using this system to organize volunteer clean-up efforts in Orem and surrounding communities in the aftermath of any flooding.

Treat yourself to a lustrous night of music as Orem Library welcomes New York-based Australian pianist Lisa Moore to Library Hall on April 13. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see a world-class pianist perform right here in Orem!
