NASW-MO Board Elections Open Now Until May 2nd!

NASW-MO is holding its annual Board elections now through Friday, May 2nd! If you are a member in good standing, please cast your ballot! The link for the slate of candidates can be found here.


The positions up for election are President Elect, Secretary, Member-At-Large, Unit A Representative, Unit B Representative, MSW Student Representative, and BSW Student Representative. If you need to determine which Units represent which areas, please consult the map available on the NASW-MO website here, where you can view Units either on the map or scroll down for a list of counties. The NASW-MO Programs Committee is excited to share the Chapter’s newly developed three-year program plan, which received unanimous Board approval at the December meeting. This plan outlines our key priorities: membership recruitment and retention, advocacy, professional development, and organizational development. With these goals in place, we are committed to strengthening the social work community across Missouri. As we move forward, we invite passionate members to join the Programs Committee to play an active role in shaping the Chapter’s future programs and initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to collaborate with fellow social workers, develop your leadership skills, and make a meaningful impact. Legislative Updates

From NASW-MO's Lobbying Team

Anti-Poverty Efforts 

  • Create a series of tax credits to spur investment in childcare to improve access and affordability. HB 269, sponsored by Representative Brenda Shields (R-St. Joseph), passed the House and has been referred to the Senate Emerging Issues and Professional Registration Committee.  
  • NASW MO supported this bill in committee.  
  • Reinstate the ability of individuals with felony drug convictions to access SNAP benefits. HB 916, sponsored by Representative Chad Perkins (R-Bowling Green), passed the House Corrections and Public Safety Committee and is on the calendar for floor debate.
