MESSAGE FROM YOUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The Horseshoe Bay POA wants to express our sincere thanks to our outgoing President Mike Thuss and Vice-President Mary Daniel for their time and dedication serving our community. They preserved our POA during a critical time. We very much appreciate their hard work in achieving significant accomplishments during their time served on our board.

As we move forward with our 2022-2023 Board of Directors, we are eager to diligently work on different projects that aim to maintain and improve our community and benefit all of us. We urge you to volunteer and actively participate in the different activities and committees. If you are interested in volunteering please email or call us directly. For many who may not know, the HSB POA is a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization. We try to provide for our community as much as possible, but we need 'Grant Writers' to assist us in improvements to Fox Park, Slick Rock Creek Trail and the HSB POA Campground. Homemade Thousand Island Dressing

By Karen Calderon-Schweitzer

At home, we love keeping this dressing ready for use in the refrigerator as it's delicious not only on salads but on sandwiches, burgers or as a dip for veggies, cooked shrimp or imitation crab. This is my homemade basic recipe. From here it can be transformed to fit all tastes and preferences. Add a dash of fiery hot sauce, finely chopped cilantro, sour cream or use vegan mayo and make this your favorite go-to-dressing.

INGREDIENTS

1⁄2 cup mayonnaise

2 Tablespoons ketchup

1 Tablespoon apple cider or red wine vinegar

2 teaspoons sugar

2 teaspoons sweet pickle relish

1 Tablespoon minced pickles

1 Tablespoon white onion, finely minced

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1/2 teaspoon paprika

¼ teaspoon dry mustard

Salt and pepper to taste

The process is so easy as to just mix all ingredients and adjust seasonings to taste. Keeps refrigerated for up to a week, but in my house, it’s gone by day five!

Question Of The Month

The HSBPOA has decided to incorporate a question of the month in which we will pick out the most frequently asked question and address it here!

Question: "Does Horseshoe Bay or the POA have any public access points in which we can drop our boats or jet skis in?"

Answer: Unfortunately, we don't have any public boat access points within the POA or Horseshoe Bay. However, Lake LBJ Yacht Club and Marina's boat ramp is open 24/7. They do have a $10 launch fee for one day, but it is free for LBJ Yacht Club and Marina Members.
