STAY IN THE KNOW
"We are all concerned for ourselves and our families, and I am no exception to that concern. I know you have all been inundated with information. I won’t repeat what you've already heard, but I will remind you that as time goes on it is easy to let your guard down and return to old habits. Please remind yourself and the ones you love that continued diligence in this battle is still needed to protect ourselves and our community."
INCREASED POLICE, FIRE AND EMS CALLS, AND THE RESOURCES THAT ARE AVAILABLE TO YOU:
With more people staying home, the Lewiston Police Department (LPD) and Lewiston Fire Department (LFD) are seeing an increase in calls compared to this time last year:
Calls for LPD:
juvenile-related problems (47% increase)
domestic violence (33% increase)
Calls for LFD:
house fires (15% increase)
people who have fallen and need assistance (10% increase)
In honor of
National Public Safety Telecommunications Week, we would like to say
THANK YOU to our hardworking dispatchers and other public safety telecommunicators who serve as a vital link between our community and local fire, medical, and law enforcement agencies.
ATTN: SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS
Do you need capital to cover the cost of retaining employees?
What about a quick infusion of a smaller amount of cash to cover you right now?
Maybe you need to ease your fears about keeping up with payments on your current SBA loan?
Completing your census online, by phone or mail today will help bring in federal funding for our state and help decrease the number of Census Takers that will have to go door to door during this challenging time for public health.
Help everyone by completing your census today.
This is another great activity for families to enjoy in the safety and comfort of their homes.
