The City of Twentynine Palms Parks and Recreation Department is seeking an active, energetic, and organized leader to serve as Recreation Coordinator. This position plans, implements and oversees City-sponsored recreational activities at our community center, parks, and/or recreational area for a variety of age groups.

Free World Wildlife Day Celebration

The City of Twentynine Palms invites residents and visitors to celebrate World Wildlife Day on Saturday, April 4, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Twentynine Palms Community Center, located at 6547 Freedom Way. This FREE, family-friendly event offers an exciting opportunity to explore the wonders of wildlife and conservation through engaging exhibits, live animal presentations, and hands-on learning experiences designed for all ages.


A highlight of the day will be Learning Safaris presented by Pacific Animal Productions, scheduled at 10:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. These captivating live animal encounters give attendees a rare up-close look at fascinating creatures from around the world, while highlighting the importance of wildlife protection and habitat preservation.


Throughout the event, guests can explore informational booths hosted by local wildlife and conservation organizations, including the Joshua Tree National Park Association, Big Morongo Canyong Preserve, 760 Snake Club, and more. Participating groups will offer resources, interactive activities, and educational displays focused on protecting and preserving our natural world for future generations.

The International Festival brings together the vibrant creative energy of the Twentynine Palms community under the open desert sky. This year’s event will feature performances by students from Twentynine Palms High School clubs and classes, showcasing the remarkable talent cultivated in the local school community across a wide range of disciplines.


The 2026 International Festival is presented in partnership with Twentynine Palms High School and the Levitt AMP 29 Palms Music Series, an acclaimed program dedicated to bringing free, highquality live music to the Twentynine Palms community through ten concerts a year. Together, these partnerships promise a dynamic and diverse program that reflects the rich cultural tapestry of the Twentynine Palms area.

PALMS-N-PAWS RABIES CLINIC

April 18th palms-n-paws will be holding a Rabies clinic Sat, April 18th from 8:00am to 10:00 am shots are $8.00 cash only and city licensing will be available at that time cash, credit or checks.


Palms-N-Paws handle all kinds of animals, from house pets and livestock to birds of prey. Whether you’re looking to adopt, volunteer, or just have fun, there’s something for everyone!


If you would like to adopt an animal, please visit their facility. Adoption fees include spay/neuter vouchers, health check-ups, City licenses, and microchipping. All adopted animals must be taken from the shelter at the time of adoption.


Palms-N-Paws would like to remind our residents that it is crucial to spay and neuter your pets. Here are a few reasons as to why spaying and neutering is important:

  • Avoid unwanted litters
  • Reduce your pet’s risk for reproductive cancers and infections
  • Reduce spraying in male cats

Registration Open for 2nd Annual City Youth Olympics presented by the Twentynine Palms Youth Council

Get ready for a morning of fun, competition, and community spirit! The Twentynine Palms Youth Council is proud to present the 2nd Annual Twentynine Palms City Youth Olympics on Saturday, April 18, at Luckie Park. This free event welcomes youth of all ages to compete in exciting games and celebrate the joy of friendly competition.


Event Schedule:

1st – 5th Grade: 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM

6th – 8th Grade: 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM

9th – 12th Grade: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM


This year’s event features returning favorites like the inflatable obstacle course, tug-of-war, potato sack race, basketball free throw contest, and sponge bucket challenge, plus new additions including a dizzy sprint and a dunk tank for even more fun.


In addition to the games, this year’s City Youth Olympics will feature a fun and engaging health and wellness component. The Youth Council will host an informational table highlighting the importance of making healthy choices, including raising awareness about the effects of vaping. Through their message, “Stay in Shape, Don’t Vape,” they aim to inspire and empower youth to prioritize their health and wellbeing.


The first 125 participants will receive a commemorative bag and water bottle thanks to Danni’s Den Design. All participants will receive a medal and are guaranteed to have a great time. CONCERT LINEUP ANNOUNCED FOR 2026 LEVITT AMP TWENTYNINE PALMS MUSIC SERIES

The countdown to a memorable Spring season of free concerts under the STARS in Twentynine Palms is underway! Today the Levitt AMP Twentynine Palms Music Series announced its impressive lineup of artists who will perform in the heart of the City every Saturday at 7 PM from April 4, 2026 to May 2, 20206 at Freedom Plaza. So, grab your family, friends, and neighbors and get ready to experience the power of free, live music to bring our community together!


Supported in part by the Levitt Family Foundation, a social impact funder at the intersection of music, public space, and community building, supporting nonprofits nationwide, the Levitt AMP Music Series program injects new life into underused public spaces through free, outdoor concerts across the country.


The Levitt AMP Twentynine Palms Music Series will present ten (10) free, family-friendly concerts to the public this Spring and Fall at Freedom Plaza. The series will feature a diverse lineup of high-caliber talent spanning genres like Folk, Alt-Rock, Country, R&B, Celtic Rock, and Swing.


Kicking off the 2026 series at 7 PM on April 4 at Freedom Plaza is beloved Desert Singer/Songwriter Rosa Pullman opening for headliners “Melancholy Babies” with Western Swing, New Orleans jazz and popular music from the golden age of American song.


Also scheduled to perform are Mexican/American artist “MauMauMau”, opening for Stewart Taylor with Funk and R&B inspired original music on April 11; local Singer/Songwriter, guitarist and recording artist Mick Leonardy opening for “The Hailers” with Celtic Rock and more, on April 18; Country artist John Henry Jones opening for Pacific Northwest based Folk artist Carly Ann Calbero on April 25.; and retro ‘60s/world music influenced artist Neil Soiland opening for legendary Americana Artist Dan Navarro on May 2.


The public is invited to bring their own picnics, blankets and lawn chairs to the concerts, which will have an open setting. Food and beverage vendors will be on site as well as family friendly activities starting at 6 PM. The Levitt AMP Music Series is located at 6547 Freedom Wy, Twentynine Palms, CA, between Yucca Avenue and Smoketree Avenue AND Highway 62. Admission is free.

Twentynine Palms Launches Inaugural Adult Coed Soccer League


Park and Recreation Department is excited to announce the launch of its inaugural Adult Coed Soccer League, bringing a new opportunity for adults in the community to stay active, meet new people, and enjoy friendly competition.


Games will be played on Tuesday evenings beginning April 14 at Luckie Park. The league will feature a 7-on-7 format, with a minimum of two female players on the field at all times for a team to remain eligible for a win. The recreational format is designed to keep games fast-paced, fun, and accessible for players of all experience levels.


Teams are encouraged to register early, and individuals without a team may sign up as free agents and be placed on a roster as space allows.


“This league is about creating another opportunity for adults in our community to get out, stay active, and have fun,” said Recreation Division Manager Haywood Adams. “Whether you’ve played soccer your whole life or you’re just looking for something new to do on Tuesday nights, we hope people will come out, form a team, and help us make this first season a great one.”


The launch of the Adult Coed Soccer League reflects the City’s continued effort to expand recreational programming and provide new opportunities for residents to connect through sports and community activities.

Yoga for All


The City of Twentynine Palms is about to get a little more flexible, as new yoga classes, led by Doula Supinda Siri. These classes, designed for all ages and skill levels, aim to create a welcoming and inclusive environment to promote physical and mental well-being.


The yoga classes will be held four times a month on Wednesdays at the Luckie Park Activity Center, located at 74325 Joe Davis Drive. Whether you're a senior, a parent, a teen, or simply someone looking for a midweek reset, there’s a class tailored just for you.

Barre Pilates Fusion

It's time for some self-care. Using tenants of meditation, breathwork, yoga, and dance, participants will enjoy meaningful movement, stretching, and stillness that will have them leaving feeling rejuvenated and revitalized.

Tumbling Tots

Build confidence and coordination with an introduction to gymnastics for kids age 2-6. Through rolling, jumping, stretching, and creative movement with props, kids will begin to understand the fundamentals of body awareness, balance, and the joy of movement

Kids' Rhythm and Bop:

Tuesdays 5:00-5:50pm at Luckie Park Activity Center Dance Room 

Ages: 6-16


This high energy dance program is designed to introduce children and teens to rhythm and creative movement. They'll build confidence and coordination, while learning the fundamentals of dance genres spanning ballet, jazz, Irish step dancing, line dancing, polka, waltz, and more. Learning becomes fun when games and active participation meet technique.
