Tue, Apr 7, 12:00- 2:00pm, Lunch & Learn - Wild Foods. Join renowned Southern Herbalist Darryl Patton as he shares the art of gathering wild, edible plants. Learn to identify local flora, and taste Darryl's best recipes. Tuesday, 12-2pm Registration includes light lunch. $10 fee. Youth, ages 12-15 are welcome and must register and be accompanied with a paid registered adult.
Tue, Apr 7, 6:00-8:00pm, Heritage Skills - Boundary Line Bison Ranch. Come explore the ranch’s rich history and meet the majestic bison herd. See beautifully preserved hides and skulls, learn about heritage practices, and shop pasture-raised meat, natural herbs, and handcrafted goods—all rooted in tradition and sustainability. Youth ages 12-15 are welcome and must register and be accompanied with a paid registered adult. $15 fee.
Thurs, Apr 9, 6-8pm, Military Vet. & Begin Farmer - High Tunnel Production (Part 1). Learn the ins and outs of high tunnel production including crop selection, construction tips, and growing techniques. Free class, but registration required. *Held at the Agriplex
Fri, Apr 10, 9:00-11:00am, Heritage Homeschool Elementary - I am a Forest Defender. The AL Forestry Commission will lead an engaging discussion on fire & forestry, explaining how fire shapes our forests. Get an up-close look at the tools and equipment used to manage and fight wildfires. $15 per student, $30 max per family.
Fri, Apr 10, 12:00-2:00pm, Heritage Homeschool Secondary - Pottery & Propagation. Practice the art of plant propagation and then create your own unique pet-inspired planter, led by Keramos Ceramics, to bring your new succulents to life. $30 per student.
Sat, Apr 11, 10:00-11:30am, Farm Kids Club - Wildflower Walk. It's a Farm Kids Field Trip to Sportsman Lake Park! Join us as we discover and identify the seasonal blooms of this peaceful place. We'll check out the storybook trail and enjoy a yummy trail snack. $10 fee, $20 max per family.
Thur, Apr 16, 10-11am, Little Farmers - Blue: Water. A playful preschool series where each month explores a new color through hands-on activities, snacks, stories, and nature or farm-inspired fun. $5 per child, max $10 per family.
Thurs, Apr 16, 3-5pm, Military Veteran & Begin Farmer - High Tunnel Production Field Day (Part 2). See high tunnel production up close at this field day - includes IPM techniques and insight from experienced growers. *Held at Wallace State Community College. Free class but registration required.
Tues, Apr 28, 6-8pm, Living Landscapes: Bouquets - How to grow a cut flower garden. Enjoy an evening with Stephanie Carroll from Thrive Flower Farm and the Agriplex's Sonya Boyd, harvesting and designing a backyard bouquet while gathering information on best backyard flower practices to keep a beautiful, disease-resistant cut flower garden. Youth ages 12-15 are welcome and must register and be accompanied with a paid, registered adult. $25 per person.
