April EagleCast – The Invisible Medal:
Leading with a Higher Purpose
On Tuesday, April 15 at 8:30 a.m., learn what it takes to be the leader you are called to be. “The Invisible Medal” is the realization that the success we enable in others is greater than any personal accolade. Invisible medals will be earned if we focus on people and relationships, view life as a stewardship, and recognize that everyone has potential.
After graduating from Auburn in 1992, Colonel Chris Richie (USMC-retired) embarked on a 30-year military career. He deployed multiple times in support combat and humanitarian operations. From 2012-2014, Chris was a diplomatic member of the U.S. Embassy Country Team in the United Arab Emirates. He served in 20 countries and 10 States, leading thousands of people around the globe in times of peace and war.
Chris is currently the Director for Auburn University Human Resource Development and a leadership instructor for the College of Business. He is also a two-time Amazon best seller and regular keynote speaker.

BraveHeart Center for Place & Purpose
Photo Exhibit in O.D. Smith
Auburn’s BraveHeart Center for Place & Purpose is partnering with Auburn University Outreach to hold their 9th annual photo exhibit at O.D. Smith Hall through the month of April. BCPP provides a place where individuals with disabilities are offered comprehensive opportunities for continued growth in the areas of health and fitness, academia, life and job skills, community outreach, and creative arts exploration. Throughout the semester, we are able to integrate frequent photowalks into the BCPP schedule. This allows us to be able to see the world through the perspective of our young adults. If you’re interested in interacting with our young adults and their art, use the link below to sign up for a date and time that works for you in order to get a guided tour from one of our photographers.

Spring Break Service-Learning Program Assessing the Mental Health of the Maldivian Population for Global Healthcare
The Spring Break Service-Learning Program, led by Auburn Outreach in collaboration with JSS College of Pharmacy (India) and Villa Group Maldives, aimed to assess the mental health and general well-being of the Maldivian population. The team, comprising healthcare professionals, students and volunteers, conducted health and mental health screenings on the islands of Maamigili and Fenfushi. They measured vitals, blood glucose, and blood pressure, offered education on mental wellness and nutrition, and discussed healthy lifestyle practices.
This program not only provided essential healthcare services to underserved Maldivian communities but also highlighted the importance of sustained mental health support. It fostered cross-cultural learning, showcased Auburn University's commitment to addressing global health disparities, and laid the groundwork for future healthcare initiatives. The success of this collaborative effort underscores the need for continued partnerships and investment in global service-learning projects.
