Dear friends of The CARE Center,

As we step into May, we are reflecting on a momentum-filled month here at The CARE Center! With spring in full swing, we’re seeing so many people come together- putting their hands into the soil and their hearts into community service. This season reminds us of the incredible things that are possible when a community comes together. We also want to wish a special congratulations to our seniors graduating this month! We are so proud of all you’ve accomplished and excited to see where this next season takes you.

Don’t forget that we are holding a Community Connections Meeting on Wednesday, May 6th at 9:00 am. This gathering is an opportunity for community members, local leaders, and partners to come together, share updates, and stay connected to the work happening across Southeast Madison County. If you are looking for a way to stay informed and involved, we would love for you to join us.

Our community garden is also in bloom, and it would not be possible without the incredible generosity of donors and the dedication of local volunteer teams. From youth groups to local organizations, we have seen so many people step in to plant, build, and serve. Because of this support, we are continuing to grow fresh food that will directly serve families in need throughout our community. If you are interested in volunteering, please email priscilla.ballard@thecare-center.org.

As we look ahead, we are in the final push for our Summer Snack Drive, with donations due by May 22nd. This initiative plays a critical role in helping us provide snacks and meals for children in our summer camps across multiple locations and for several weeks. Please see our Amazon Wishlist below to help feed our campers!

Finally, we’re excited to announce the details for our most impactful event of the year… The Gregg Berens Memorial “I Golf Because I CARE” Fundraising Tournament will take place on October 16th, 2026 at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course at Hampton Cove. This event is a powerful way for our community to come together, have fun, and support the mission of The CARE Center. We cannot wait to share more in the months ahead!

April was a month of growth in every sense of the word. Growth in our garden, growth in the community, and growth in the ways we continue to serve. Your support is what makes all of this possible, and we are so grateful to be walking into this next season together.

Blessings,

Andrea Bridges
