Round of a-PAWS for Chase
Chase reached out to us in the beginning of February letting us know that he chose us to help out with his Eagle Scout Service Project. During the month of February, he organized donation drives at Pet’s Barn and Petco and collected food, puppy pads, toys, and all the pet essentials to donate! Along with his donation drives, he and his troop dedicated one of their weekends to helping us clean our grounds and scrub our furry resident’s beds. A huge round of a-PAWS to this junior animal advocate and his friends in Troop 727!
The CPR Guy
On April 6, twelve of our staff members took a two-hour course with "The CPR Guy", Manny Martinez, to receive their CPR certification. The well-being of our fellow co-workers, volunteers, and our community is one of our top priorities, thanks to this training we are now better prepared to handle a life-saving emergency.
Thank You For Joining Us For Our
Annual Kitten Shower
Thank you to everyone that joined us for our Annual Kitten Shower! For the past two years, we had to host most of our events virtually due to COVID. But we were so excited to once again welcome the public back on campus for our Kitten Shower. It was MEOW-tastic!

Our Kitten Shower is organized to educate the public about Kitten Season otherwise known as Feline Breeding Season; trap, neuter, and release programs that the Humane Society of El Paso, Sun City Cats, and El Paso TNR offer. It also helps us prepare for the influx of kittens we will be receiving during the warm months by giving us the ability to recruit foster volunteers and restock our neonatal supplies to ensure all of our foster homes have everything they need to care for our youngest residents.
Acts of Random Kindness
El Paso Community Foundation
At the beginning of March, the El Paso Community Foundation reached out to HSEP to inform us of a program they had started pre COVID called ARK- Acts of Random Kindness. This program teaches students across our area that every donation no matter how small will make a huge difference in their community. They informed us that the students from Whitaker Elementary had selected the Humane Society of El Paso as their charity for this program. Students were given a plastic ARK piggie bank where they collected change, dollars, and kind notes to donate to our facility. After a few weeks of filling up their piggie banks, we were invited to go to their school and talk to them about our mission and explain how their donations would help our animals.

Thank you to the El Paso Community Foundation, students, and staff at Whittaker Elementary for this amazing opportunity!
