REQUEST FOR NOMINATIONS: 2021 ARCHIE LEAGUE MEDAL OF SAFETY AWARDS
We’re currently seeking nominations for the 2021 Archie League Medal of Safety Awards, to be presented at Communicating For Safety 2021 at Bally’s Las Vegas this September.
Save event window: June 1st, 2020 thru April 16th, 2021. Any member can nominate another member who was involved in the best saves that have occurred at your facilities since June 1, 2020. The deadline for submissions is April 23rd, 2021.

Protect the MVA: How Low Can You Go?

As a controller, do you know how low you can go when it comes to the MVA? Compliance is important and it’s there for a reason.

It is your primary tool for separation from obstacles and terrain. Without compliance, risk exists for collision with terrain or obstacles.
Traffic Numbers on the rise as we return to normal!
As our traffic numbers increase over the coming months, so should our awareness, our attention to detail, and our communication skills. Get help when you need it. Stay ahead of the problem and be ready for those busy periods. Remember, we are all on the same team and on this team, safety is first! Trending in the Great Lakes for ARTCC: Sector volume/resource management; Hearback/Readback Errors; Not following procedures. Tower/TRACON: Late hand-offs, airspace violations, not following procedures.

ATSAP 2.0 News
Please be sure that your contact information in your ATSAP account is current and up to date!!! If the analysts cannot get a hold of you, they cannot act on your report!!

The ATSAP System is undergoing periodic maintenance and upgrades. Along with that, there have been some unknown outages.

Safety Issue or event:
If you find that the site is not working and you need to file a report, please call the number listed here. 1-866-384-0157 (option 1). Leave a short message stating your intent to file. This action will stop the clock and allow you to report when the system is back up. Outages are typically only a couple of hours long.
