Sinai Kids Create Family Program
Monday, April 8th & Wednesday, April 10th
Throughout the school year, our Kindergarten - 2nd Grade students have been hard at work. They have used various methods of learning about Judaism and the Jewish holidays, including through art. Parents and grandparents were invited to view the art and enjoy a wine and cheese reception. Temple Sinai is so lucky to have such creative students and teachers!
Sharing Shabbat-Macaroons & Matzah Balls
Friday, April 12th
Temple Sinai Nursery School and Religious School families collaborated again to celebrate a very special Sharing Shabbat. Honoring Passover, our youngest students worked on craft projects and welcomed Shabbat with songs led by Cantors Elena and Sergei Schwartz.
5th Grade Mock Seder

As soon as Purim was over, our Religious School students went straight to work on learning everything they could about Passover. They learned everything about what to expect at a seder, practiced the Four Questions, and ate some delicious Passover treats. Morah Lucy and Morah Lisa helped lead our 5th grade students with a mock Passover seder of their own.
Sinai Circle's Canasta Tournament
Thursday, March 28th
The ladies of Sinai Circle gathered together to pull out their cards and have an afternoon schmoozing and playing Canasta. A huge thank you goes out to the organizers: Meredith Adelman, Liz Neale, and Tracy Zimmerman for coordinating such a fun and memorable event.
Friend of a Friend
Intergenerational Women's Seder
Wednesday, April 3rd
The annual Friend of a Friend Intergenerational Women's Seder was a beautiful evening of women coming together to celebrate, sing, dance, learn, and feast! Some of our Religious School students even got involved, leading the Four Questions. A new Haggadah was created and made the night more special.
In Other News ...

Caroline Faber has been actively working on ensuring that Gigi's Playhouse Long Island becomes a reality for her Bat Mitzvah project. Gigi's Playhouse is a non-profit organization that works to educate and empower people who have Down syndrome and to increase acceptance of it. With over 40 locations, Caroline felt that New York City was too far for children from Long Island. A Long Island location would provide programs more locally such as therapy and exercise programs, sign language classes, gross and fine motor skill classes, teen gatherings, choral groups, parent support and career development for older people with Down syndrome.
