Areyvut
Inspire Jewish youth to give of themselves...
May 2014
Dear Friends,

I hope that you have all had a wonderful month. April was a busy month for Areyvut, starting off the first weekend with our Third Annual Bergen County Breakfast and finishing the last weekend with an Areyvut Board Family & Friends Day of Service! We thank you for your support, partnership, and for continuing to bring us to your communities. May is packed with Areyvut programming so make sure to keep a look out for us around town!
Third Annual Bergen County Breakfast
Areyvut's Third Annual Bergen County Breakfast took place on April 6th at Bnai Yeshurun in Teaneck. During our own "Bat Mitzvah Year," we were thrilled to honor two inspirational women: Jessica Baer with the Young Leadership Award and Shira Hammerman with the Community Leadership Award.

Click here to check out the video presentation highlighting our two honorees. Jess and Shira are role models to their peers, as well as those many years their senior, and we hope they inspire you as they have all of us here at Areyvut.
Giving2Gether at Temple Beth Shalom
As part of the Jewish Education Project's J-LINC Initiative, Areyvut has been coordinating Giving2Gether, a program for parents and their 3-and-4 year old children to participate in hands-on activities that teach important Jewish values like kindness, charity, and caring for the world.

This month, Giving2Gether participants learned about the importance of giving tzedakah. To check out the song the children learned about charity and giving, click here!
Areyvut Board Family & Friends Day of Service
Areyvut's staff and board members came together with their families to participate in an afternoon of chesed. Areyvut friends and family spent time with residents at the Jewish Home at Rockleigh. Together, they painted flower pots for the Jewish Home's annual Mother's Day Flower sale, and spent some time singing and dancing! A fun time was had by all!
Flowers for Shavuot!
With Shavuot just around the corner, Areyvut is pleased to announce our Flowers for Shavuot fundraiser! From now until May 19th, order flowers through Areyvut and a percentage of your order will go to benefit Areyvut programming! This is a wonderful way to beautify your holiday while also supporting a long-standing community non-profit.

Flowers are being ordered through Flowers for Shabbat by Randy Jerome. Flower arrangements include:

Rose Bouquet (Reg. $20)
Mixed Bouquet (Reg. $25/Large $32)

All flowers will be available for pick-up in Bergenfield on June 2nd, or for an additional $3, your flowers can be delivered to your home on June 3rd. Delivery is available in Teaneck, Bergenfield, Englewood, West Orange, and Stamford, CT.

Click here to place your flower order! All orders must be submitted by May 20th.

We thank you for your continued support and look forward to many more years of serving the Jewish community. Please contact the Areyvut office with any questions or concerns at (201)-244-6702.

About Areyvut
Areyvut's mission is to infuse the lives of Jewish youth and teens with the core Jewish values of chesed (kindness), tzedakah (charity), and tikkun olam (social action), so that they become thoughtful, giving members of the Jewish community of tomorrow.

We offer day schools, congregational schools, synagogues, community centers, and individual families with a variety of opportunities to help them make these core values real and meaningful to their children.
