Dear FTR-

This is my love letter to you...

I am so lucky to be able to share the ways FTR has changed my life! I am so grateful my sobriety led me here!

Let me tell you how I love thee...let me count the ways... SO MANY!

FTR has helped me to love myself more. Just walking through the doors and engaging in the workouts & connecting with people has helped me to love myself more & sped up my journey of letting go of the shame and negative thoughts.

I feel supported here more than any other place I have belonged to or any community group I have been a part of.

Fit to Recover is a gift. I finally found my sober community here which was lacking for 3 lonely years of sobriety. When I started working out I thought... "You mean I can be a part of a sober community that has fun, blasts awesome music, & spreads joy?" My sobriety looks completely different now.

FTR.

Thank you!

Brady Kotter, SLC

FTR for me feels as though it ought to be one of those older "priceless" Visa commercials. FTR has been instrumental in my recovery by means of a safe, loving environment in which each and every individual has a sincere genuine interest in my well-being. The connection I've been so grateful and fortunate to be immersed in here at FTR has helped catalyze the healing process for me by facing my shame directly with connection and love. Shame withers in such environments and I am a member for life. Recovery is difficult, learning I can indeed do hard things without falling apart has been a valued experience. The shared humanity within and throughout FTR is PRICELESS to me and amongst my most cherished possessions.

Sally Fuller, Orem

When I was in inpatient recovery, I was eager to overcome my alcoholism. I started FTR when I was two days into my recovery. I didn’t have much energy or physical endurance. I showed up and gave it my all. I will never forget what Ian said to our group that day he said “if all of you put in as much work into your recovery as Sally did today, then you will be successful.” I felt a great deal of hope that day that I can do hard things and succeed. FTR is a place where I feel safe, accepted and motivated. When I’m with my fellow addicts and we cheer each other on, I feel like I can overcome my weaknesses and cravings. I have seen a huge transformation in my physical appearance since that first day. I am so grateful for FTR!
