Want to Earn 12 Hours of DLG Credit?
T2 will be offering 12 hours of DLG credit on May 22 and May 23 at Rough River State Resort Park for the following Roads Scholar and Road Master workshops. Both workshops are worth six hours each, and include; lunch, networking, and training materials. The fee for the workshops are $95 per person per day. Call or register online to reserve your spot!



05/22/19 – Leading Challenging People - This workshop explores working with challenging people through The PITA Principle, generational leadership through a multi-generational workforce, influencing others on the job through effective use of power and The Five Competencies of Emotional Intelligence.     
*This is a Roads Scholar optional course.

05/23/19 – Using Motivation and Discipline to Manage Successfully - Do you wish someone would pull his or her own weight on the job? Are you constantly on an employee to meet a project deadline? This workshop teaches the secrets of the one-minute manager while demonstrating reprimanding and praising techniques. Group exercises include lessons on giving effective feedback and motivating employees. The participant will also learn how to develop career and life strategies.
*This is a Road Master optional class.

ADA: Sidewalk Facilities for Public Rights-of-Way
2019 Dates Now Available
The Technology Transfer Program is pleased to offer the American's with Disabilities Act: Sidewalk Facilities for Public Rights-of-Way workshop. This one-day course will discuss sidewalk, curb ramp, and crosswalk requirements mandated under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for roadways in the public rights-of-way.

Participants will learn how to design infrastructure projects that maximize accessibility for all users.

Accepting Applications for the Michelle Adams Memorial Scholarship
  The Technology Transfer Program is currently accepting applications for the Michelle Adams Memorial Scholarship. Michelle lost her life in 2011 in a vehicle crash resulting from dangerous winter road conditions. T2 was blessed to work with Michelle as a University of Kentucky student and as a staff member.

The scholarship is available to a student who:
  1. is an incoming freshman who is expected to enroll full time at the University of Kentucky in Fall 2019;
  2. is the son or daughter of either an attendee of the T2 Snow & Ice Removal course or any public works employee in Kentucky; and
  3. demonstrates financial need.

The scholarship award is $1,000 and the deadline to apply is May 31, 2019.

Register for a Traffic Incident Management Training
The key to building stronger incident response teams is to train all agencies together. Training classes include representatives across many disciplines, including but not limited to law enforcement, fire and rescue personnel, emergency medical services, towing and recovery professionals, dispatchers, hazardous materials responders, coroners, medical examiners, and public works professionals.

Course material includes recommended incident management procedures and techniques, and will teach first responders within states, regions and localities how to operate more efficiently and safely.

The four-hour course is free of charge! After the training participants will receive a certificate via email.

Directions and Benefits of the T2 Online Database
The T2 online database can be reached by signing in on the calendar page which is located here . To sign in, each user must have their own unique email address. A third party cannot register an individual unless signed into the attendee's account.

Once logged in, attendees can see their contact information, current schedule, history and credit hours. It's a great way to keep track of your upcoming schedule or to see how close you are to completing the Roads Scholar or Road Master Programs.

APWA Bluegrass Branch Roadeo
The APWA Bluegrass Branch Roadeo will be held April 25th, 2019, at the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, Division of Streets and Roads at 1791 Old Frankfort Pike. We invite you to attend this event to network with other public work agencies. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. with donuts and coffee, the program will begin at 9:00 a.m. A cook-out lunch will be provided to all registered participants and guests.

Participants have the opportunity to display their professional skills in a Roadeo, where Public Works employees from across the Bluegrass Area compete in the Backhoe, Skid Steer, and/or Snow Plow.
