Spring at Cristo Rey Miami

What a blessing to be entering the final stretch of our first full school year at Cristo Rey Miami High School! Our students have just eight weeks left before they officially complete their freshmen year and are promoted to the sophomore class. They'll stay busy during that time getting ready for final exams, preparing for the final day of Corporate Work Study, and celebrating their achievements as a historic founding class.

Meanwhile, we're busy recruiting the incoming freshmen who will be joining the Cristo Rey family in the 2023-24 school year. We've met so many incredible families who are seeking the opportunity for their children to receive an extraordinary, affordable college-and-career preparatory Catholic education. It is thanks to your support that we can provide that to them by enrolling their children as rising ninth-graders at Cristo Rey Miami High School.

Through the donation of a generous benefactor, all contributions between $50 and $25,000 are currently being matched dollar for dollar up to $1,000,000!

Student Spotlight

Luckny

Luckny is a young girl who truly values her education and makes it known to all of her peers and family members. As the oldest of her siblings, she has many responsibilities at home, including waking up daily at 5 AM to help her mom and dad.

Luckny has only been absent from school once the entire school year, currently has a 3.68 GPA, and is a member of the basketball team.

Corporate Work Study Partner Highlight

Lilia Restrepo, Business Intelligence Director at Kaufman Rossin, has been mentoring our spotlighted student, Luckny, ever since she began her Corporate Work Study placement last fall.

She recently shared a great update about Luckny's performance, particularly in her use of Microsoft Excel. All Cristo Rey Miami students receive Excel training during the four-week Summer Success Institute, and Luckny's skill with the program has only continued to grow during her time at Kaufman Rossin. She regularly uses Excel to enter data, write formulas, and create tables and pie charts. In fact, Lilia shared that Luckny is among the top Excel users working in the office. In addition to her strong technical skills, her supervisors report that Luckny is proactive, friendly, and eager to learn.
