Dear Impact100 DC Community,

While spring often feels like a time of quiet anticipation, behind the scenes at Impact100 DC, April is one of our most active months of the year.

Since late January, more than 120 of our members have been working diligently within the five Focus Area Committees (FACs) to evaluate proposals submitted through our 2026 grant application process. Culminating in a rigorous financial assessment of semi-finalists by the Finance Committee, we have reached an exciting milestone: site visits are underway.

Our stewardship is grounded in active listening – from the expertise and vision described in written applications, to the stories of resilience found in financial records, and to the passion and impact shared by nonprofit leaders during our site visits.

To everyone participating on our Grants Team – our Co-Chairs Dorothy Durden and Kate Rogers, our talented FAC and Finance Committee Co-Chairs, and the members serving on review teams – thank you! Your dedicated work ensures that when we meet our finalists this coming June, we will have the confidence that our process has provided truly excellent choices, empowering us all to act as effective catalysts for change.

I look forward to sharing more as we approach the time for Impact100 DC members to cast our votes directing our $300,000 collective impact and deciding our three 2026 Impact Grant Awards!

With gratitude,

Francine

President, Impact100 DC

Impact100 DC 2025 Annual Report

We hope you’ll take a few minutes to read our 2025 Annual Report  a look back at last year’s program and membership highlights. We’re excited to share it with you and encourage you to pass it along to prospective members.

This report was a true team effort, with special thanks to Board member Latina Fauconier for bringing it all together once again.

Leadership Opportunities at Impact100 DC

Our leadership team plays a vital role (often behind the scenes) in shaping a rewarding Impact100 DC membership experience, and we are actively seeking new leaders to join us. Stepping into a leadership role offers the chance to influence the organization’s future, collaborate with talented, committed women, and build meaningful friendships. We have immediate openings for two positions:

  • Programs & Events Chair: No professional event planning experience required. If you’re comfortable with logistics, planning, and execution, we’d love to talk.
  • Governance Chair: Ideal for someone with experience in legal affairs and compliance, who enjoys organizational strategy and has an eye for detail when it comes to bylaws and policies.

Please contact Francine Lamoriello to learn more. We would love to hear from you!

Impact100 DC Grantee Updates

2025 Mission Grantee: Empower DC

Empower DC is actively reviewing the Mayor’s budget to ensure equitable development in often-neglected neighborhoods. They’ve also released an Environmental Justice Guide for DC Residents, offering key facts, laws, and information on the 311 process to empower residents to address inequities in land use. A community cleanup, walking tour, and education event took place on April 25.

2025 Mission Grantee: Voices for a Second Chance (VSC)

VSC continues its weekly podcast, Solutions from the Yard, sharing first-hand perspectives of public safety, navigating re-entry from prison to the community, and the impact of solitary confinement, as well as information on crime-related legislation. Donations of new underwear, socks, and full-size toiletries for men and women, along with healthy food options and snacks are welcome. Save the date for VSC’s 58th Anniversary Gala and Awards Program on Oct. 1, 2026.

2024 Mission Grantee: First Generation College Bound (FGCB)

FGCB’s new documentary, “First Generation College Bound: 33 Years and Counting,” is now screening for select audiences. In the 2024–25 school year, FGCB supported nearly 2,600 students across college access, retention, and early academic pipeline programs, and reached an additional 500 students through financial aid education and outreach. FGCB seniors who enrolled in college collectively secured more than $3.2 million in financial aid in one year – representing a projected $12.8 million over four years.
