Volunteer News & Updates

April 2024

THANK YOU

Happy April! What a special month. April marks National Volunteer Appreciation Month and there is nothing I enjoy more than celebrating YOU and the joy and kindness you share with others every day. It makes my heart smile when I think of Senior Care Volunteer Network and the good you bring into this world.

April also marks the month we were awarded 2024 Community Development Partner of the Year from the McHenry County Community Development Commission. That honor is a reflection of YOU and difference you make in the community.

While you are valued and treasured every day of the year we want to extend our deepest gratitude and heartfelt appreciation to each of you in this celebratory month. Your impact in the lives of others is profound and from our hearts to yours, we humbly thank you.

Each year we do something a little different and this year, in partnership with Hyperstitch, and in honor of your volunteer service we are gifting every volunteer a free t-shirt. It will include our new logo on the front our tagline "Empowering Seniors, Enriching Lives" on the back. I can't wait to place the order, so please order yours today:

Order Your FREE Shirt!

If you have any trouble with ordering, just email Kerri your size and she will place your order. I know many of you have already placed your order, but for those who haven't the link is open through April 17th.

When the t-shirts arrive at the office, we will have a POP-UP PIZZA PARTY and Game Night to pick up your t-shirt and CELEBRATE with you. I am looking forward to getting a group photo.

Again, thank you for your dedication and heart of service. We look forward to celebrating with you.

 With Warm Regards,

Kerri Sutter

Current Volunteer Opportunities

We are always welcoming new volunteers to our team, however, below are some specialized needs we have.

Intake Team Join our growing team to welcome and onboard our expanding senior care receiver community. Ideal for those with a background in healthcare, hospice, or social work, this role involves meeting diverse individuals, strong communication, and attention to detail. As the first point of contact, you'll introduce them to our services and community. Commitment: 6-10 hours monthly. Training is provided. Contact Silvia, Intake Coordinator, for more details.

Lending Closet Support Help us surpass last year's record of 1,500 lent pieces of medical equipment! We need volunteers for 1-2 hours weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly to clean equipment at our office. This flexible opportunity lets you work to your own beat, plus enjoy great coffee, teas, cocoa, and occasional treats. Training is provided. Contact Yolanda, Operations & Lending Closet Coordinator, or Kerri, Volunteer Coordinator, to get involved.
