City to Host Aerial Spray Information Open Houses
T his spring, the City of Mississauga is conducting an aerial spray. The spray will help manage high levels of fall cankerworm and gypsy moth caterpillar populations and prevent tree loss.

The seasonal spray window is set for April 23 to June 10, 2018, between 5 and 7:30 a.m. The area being sprayed consists of private and public land in Wards 1, 2, 6, 7, 8 and 11.

The spray will happen over a three-day period, with a total of two spray applications being completed. In the weeks leading up to the spray, residents in the defined spray zone area will be contacted by the City with further details.

To prepare for the spray, the City is hosting information open house events for those who live or work in the  designated spray areas .

City staff will share details about the spray, explain how to control fall cankerworm and gypsy moth caterpillars on private property and provide an overview about the long-term health of Mississauga’s tree canopy.

Multi-Use Trail Update
The City of Mississauga Community Services Department in partnership with the Region of Peel, are pleased to announce that the construction of the multi-use trail within the Hydro 1 corridor in Ward 2 is scheduled to commence at the beginning of April, as planned.
The construction of the trail is within the Hydro One corridor lands and spans from Winston Churchill Boulevard to South Sheridan Way.

Work is scheduled to commence April 2, 2018, weather pending, and is planned to be completed by December 2018.

The construction zones will be enclosed with safety fence and the areas outside of the construction zones will remain open.

As with any construction project, it is expected that the area will be busy with construction activity. During this time, we ask for your patience and assistance in keeping away from construction activity as we look forward to the successful completion of these works.
